Get yer gear and get yer *** out there and clog up the F'in middle of the field!

When a football team averages 6.5 ypc vs us most of the yardage right up the middle we need a fat ******* in there who can occupy 2 guys so our LB'ers can get in the gaps!

We almost lost the game because we can't stop the run. We won't go no where unless they fix it and quickly.

McCullers needs to be active and play against the Rats. Maybe they were resting him.

Thomas and Mcclendon both got moved around to easily, but out LB's ovepersued big time.

Anyone who watches the game again,, look at cam thomsas in the 2nd half.. Turd in the punchbowl....

Cam Thomas IMO was complete garbage in the preseason. I thought Josh Mauro outplayed and outhustled him on the field. I'm all about a youth movement to get this team defense faster and more athletic. He looks like a big fat pile of blubber out there on the field.

No dominant NT and average DEs.

I disagree.

Our ends were doubled because McLendon can be single blocked. Ends aren't supposed to get doubled in our scheme.

If McCullers can chase plays a bit, and he's shown some of that, he's not easily single blocked. That gives our ends much more leverage. Cam Heyward actually played well against single blocks.

Thing is, we missed tackles all over the field. That **** has to stop.

Yep, they moved Cam Thomas around like a grocery cart but they did the same to Mauro when he was in there. I would have to credit the right side of Cleveland's OL in a mismatch.

Truth ^^

The most effective play for the Browns was to give the RB a handoff, have him take one step left or right, stop, and let the offensive line just push the pursuing defenders past the RB. The RB can just stand still for a count of 2 and have a huge hole due to the overpursuit.

McCullers played against 2nd and 3rd teamers, but he was getting a good push most of the preseason, but I saw him make a few tackles 10 yards downfield, the big guy has a motor too.

But we must play them anyway, they have veteran experience you know.
haha, yeah, but Bell, Shazier, Jones, Brown today all played/started over veteran guys.

Defense starts with a dominating nose tackle. They lack one.

Linebackers were pretty terrible at filling the holes and on contain.

thought I saw Keisel playing some sort of NT a few times.

this blind kid sees the play better than our DL

You owe me about a half shot of Johnny Walker Black ... LOL ... that's just wrong

Exactly right... DL's defense ain't worth a **** if you don't have a DT that has to be double teamed most if the time... the whole scheme is predicated on it... If McCullers or Tuitt aren't able to become that player, our defense is gonna struggle

There is not one player on the whole D-line so good that McCullers needs to sit the bench. Not one ******* player.. I do not care how raw he is. We virtually have nothing now..

I don't know if he has even done anything with the Texans, but I'm still burned that we didn't have our originally third-round pick for this year, which we could have used to grab Louis Nix, the best pure 3-4 nose tackle in this year's draft. I know they rarely see the field, but when they do they better perform. But that still doesn't excuse a guy like Timmons not filling a hole and trying to tackle a running back with one arm as he is falling down. He has to be better than that.

at this point, our DL should be Heyward, McCullers and McClendon
at LEAST McCullers' size would slow down an OL from getting to our LBs.
