Patriots cheating big deal or no big deal.

MASSIVE DEAL. We got shitted out of at least one Superbowl shot, God knows what else the little pricks did as well, This stuff was going on for a long time. The dude to waterboard is Ernie Adams

Now they just have a man with picture perfect memory and a top lip reader in the sky box. Imagine that!

That's why they got busted. Not for taping signals, but for taping signals after the league told them to stop.
Chronology:
1. Taping signals is not illegal. A lot of teams, if not everyone, does it.
2. NFL sends a memo in 2006 saying no more taping signals. Legality of taping prior to 2006 is dubious.
3. Pats* continue to tape signals, get to another SB in the process.
4. NFL tells them to stop in 2007. No penalty assessed.
5. Another year goes by, Pats* are busted taping the NY Jets signals, get fined and docked a draft pick, **** hits the fan around SB time in 2008. The Rogmeister destroys the evidence.
6. Pats* supposedly stop taping opponent's signals, haven't won a SB since.

So it came up again during the Pats and the Eagles game, so I ask how many think the Patriots cheating gave them an edge or not. I know the NFL down played this with a vengeance but anyone who's ever played knows if we have their play book, were going to destroy them. Just like the Pat & Steelers playoff game. Still steaming Steelers Fan.

Not really a new member just lost my membership some how.

It's not a big deal. Even Cowher said so when he was still here. The only place it's a big deal is here because the Patriots have generally slapped the Steelers silly over the years, especially when it matters.

You don't think the LEAGUE, told Billie boy how to respond to the accusations? If not the league itself, then the Rooney's whom as owners, have a bigger stake in it, than Bill C. . If I was a defending Lawyer, I'd like yaz on my jury :)

If we have to ask the question, then it probably is. We don't really know much the integrity of the game was compromised, therefore, the integrity of the game was massively compromised. If that makes sense.

My Patriot friend is going to do a interview with me.

Any questions you want answered feel free to post them here.

Will be good to get a diehard Pats fans take on some things.

Especially one that isn't in Spygate denial........

why do something that doesn't help you? as for the people that say all the teams were doing it, cowher did it... my guess is if people actually knew that super bowls where won by cheating then the nfl would lose millions of fans. anyone involved in the nfl from owners to players to coaches to commentators would lose a **** ton of money so they all down play it..
when and how

I put the Patriots cheating way WAY above Pete Rose betting on his team to win. I think in all the scandals this one is up there with Tim Donaghy the ref who shaved points in the NBA but no one talks about because like the Pats they swept it under the rug as quickly as possible.

1.) Do you feel the Pats*** cheated?
2.) Why do you feel the tapes were destroyed?
3.) The advantage has been stated, you still have to execute, is there an advantage, knowing the play or near play before it is ran?
4.) Do most Pats*** fans have a blow off type answer, when asked this question "why do you think the patriots cheated?"
5.) Looking at the severity of the destroyed tapes, to you think the punishment (fines & loss of draft pick), are adequate?
6.) Why did Bill B. have his defensive guys wired to record?
7.) How much to the positive do you feel this helped Tommy Brady in his career / accomplishments?
8.) If you feel this didn't improve his stats or play, what is your explanation as to why they did this?
9.) If "everybody" was doing this, how come no one else was fined?
10.) As busy as the head coach is and if this was no big deal, why would he invest so much time and personal money recording etc.?

I'll save room for other peoples questions. I'd also like to personally thank Slashsteel for him going through this process and time involved for us here at SN. Thanks man appreciated fully !!!!
PS Thank your friend for me too. I'm glad he is willing to do this and respect him for it.

All I know is they haven't won a Super Bowl since they were "punished". Game, set, match.

This is the biggie. When you go to the line and you KNOW the defense, you can eliminate several of your options and fewer people have to 'execute'. You don't take the extra 0.5-2.0 seconds after the play starts to find the open man, you know who it will be.

They tape the signs and the corresponding play. They show it to Ernie Adams...he memorizes and calls the signs/plays out for the OC/DC...they adjust...done deal.

I totally get it, just for the interview, I had to put the question in. It give a H-U-G-E advantage to the knowee of the play. I never bought into the "you have to execute" bullshit that went along with this scandal. True, you have to execute, but the cheaters only had to execute about 2/3 the effort that you had to.

Thinking on this nonsense over the years makes me think that there are too many people in the know about what happened for it to be a secret forever. Even if the tapes do surface, someone will crack someday. I bet there will be an Oprah show from a player or two, or an office guy, or someone, coming clean about it. Heads will roll, and damage will be known. Too many people had to be involved for it to just be a secret forever.

I have the interview. But we did it in tablet form I wrote the questions, and he answered them. Then returned the tablet.

Then after reading the answers? I was like wow. he is older than me so I expected I guess a better outcome. But it didn't read well at all, In fact I was highly disappointed.

He is a friend so I won't get into a debate over it. Nice guy but he bought into the Patriot fan bases perception on Spygate.

Nothing we haven't debated against here at the Nation.

As I sit here I am still wowing.

Needless to say I am not going to waste time posting it.

Everything from the 70s steroids, to the league was out to get the Pats because of their success.......

That fan base as a whole might be delusional...............

1st off, I respectfully thank you for the attempt. You can't be responsible for his answers. I was wondering how "Neutral" he would actually be. Part of the issue
is how well they "SWEPT" it under the table. Media has the public convinced, oh it was nothing, just a little blip. Well I still thank your friend for his efforts. Some-
day the truth be known, just not today.
