"The production models we've tried so far have failed and the responsibility is ours, mine and yours," Maduro told his ruling PSUV party congress, as Venezuela looks to tackle chronic inflation the International Monetary Fund predicted would reach one million percent this year.

Not so sure ol' buddy. My parents were born over 90 years ago and with less education were muuuuch more successful than I from a financial standpoint. A lot of it had to do where they could take home much more of their pay so they were able to accumulate wealth with what they earned rather than pay excessive taxes to the fed, state and local coffers. I believe we'd be a whole lot better off if schools had to compete for their dollars, the medical industry was not so influenced by politics and they succeeded or failed based on how well they managed patient care in a pure market driven model, and the government stayed out of our retirement affairs. I will say something you might like, I also don't like how we meddle in foreign affairs. I think we would be much better off with a limited but powerful military. Way too much money goes to that industry as well. A stockpiple of nukes is enough to keep the Ruskies or Chinese from messing with us.

You are only showing us income tax share for income EARNED. We all know many super wealthy basically pay very little to zero income tax by having their accounting show little to zero income. Ask Warren Buffet, ask Donald Trump who brags about not paying anything...how is that possible?

Except that the top 1% pay almost 40% of income tax.

This endless myth that the rich pay nothing in taxes is just that - a lie. A myth. A falsehood. Seriously, 1% of the population pays 40% of the annual income taxes?!? And 1/10th of the population pays 63% of the taxes??

The numbers simply refute your "the rich pay no taxes" meme.

No, you are simply wrong about the percentages, 21:

Employees pay 41% of the gross Federal revenues, employers pay another 40% (matching the employee contributions). Corporate income taxes are another 9%. Therefore, 90% of Federal revenues come from one income tax or another.
