As soon as I heard Letang was out I figured they were in trouble. This team looks a lot like teams the last few years to me. Inconsistent from game to game, period to period and shift to shift. I thought it was a bit ironic they were talking about the coaching change in Boston and how sometimes its best for coaches to move to new scenery. As much as Sullivan has done I feel sometimes that is the case with this team.

As much as Sullivan has done I feel sometimes that is the case with this team.

Sullivan’s problem is he is stubborn. He preaches a speed game, and does coach to the trends of the league. To Sullivans defense though -
Rutherford has left the team with very little going all in with the cup wins. The all in worked at the time.

Fast forward to now, Sullivan is stuck with a slow roster. Although Crosby, Malkin and Letang can still make stuff happen in spurts. The surrounding cast is what it is. It’s enough to get to the playoffs. That’s it. I think Sullivan tries to keep his philosophy trying to cater to the current group but you’ll see more games like last night sprinkled with those 7-0 games here and there.

We’ll see come December and January what this team really is
