Penguins 22-23

It doesn't feel like Dallas has that much improvement, as it feels like VGK have let off the gas.

Goodnight Carolina. Very impressive. Talk about getting hot at the right time... No doubt defense wins championships
And to think, if the Pens beat either Columbus or Chicago, Florida isn't even in the playoffs.

Yep.. probably not a stretch to state that if the Pens did make it in, Boston would have sent us home pretty quick. In 5 maybe....

The Dallas fans suck. Stick around for the last game of a very good season. The Stars didn't win, but they played their butts off. 28 other teams wish that they had gotten this far.

Fair weather fans.

Same. I also don't like the Panthers style.
It’s actually a pretty great story. Expansion team in 2017......all the castaways. First major sports team in Vegas. Fans totally embraced them. Hard not to vote for them. Who would ever have thought a team from Vegas would be playing for Lord Stanley ? Great story.

So true. Getting this far in the playoffs is a great achievement. Hockey playoffs are a brutal grind. Toughest championship in all of sports. You should always salute your team in the end,no Matter how disappointed you are.

I was disappointed when the Pens didn't salute the crowd at PPG this year.

I think they were in shock. Not sure how they didn't see it coming but totally agree. The fans shell out big bucks to "support" them. Might as well fake showing appreciation.

Pens have hired Kyle Dubas as the new GM

Great, we got money ball rolling into the 'Burg. fuks sake!

Management style[edit]

During his time with the Greyhounds in the OHL, Dubas believed that data could provide a way for smaller teams to close the gap with the league's traditional powerhouse programs.[4] Initially his analytics with the Greyhounds focused on how much time the team spent controlling the puck, which was largely done using manual review of video at the time.[4] Dubas has been particularly focused on using data and analytics to combat bias in decision making. At the 2015 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, his presentation was entitled "How Analytics has Limited the Impact of Cognitive Bias on Personnel Decisions."[34] In 2019, Dubas received praise from agent Dan Milstein for staying in New Jersey with Ilya Mikheyev after the latter suffered a severe cut from a skate blade, resulting in emergency surgery to repair a tendon and artery. Dubas spent three days keeping Mikheyev company in the hospital until he was cleared to travel back to Toronto.[35]

So far game one of the finals looks to be two pretty evenly matched teams. Vegas is definitely fast.

I have no emotional attachment, so I don't care who wins.

I am surprised that Vegas is taking it to the Panthers the way they are. They have them rattled and off of their game. If Vegas wins Thursday night Stone should motion everyone off the ice like Tkachuk did in the Canes series. Don't like Tkachuk. When I first started watching the playoffs I did but you can tell he is one of those guys that go south in a hurry when the chips are down. He is just running round trying to cheap shot everyone now.

I didn't really watch either team during the season. Vegas so far looks superior in every way.

I guess the compelling storyline is neither of these teams have ever won a cup. The ****** part is Vegas will do it as an infant franchise.

I bet Vegas wins it all. Refs giving them a golden opportunity to take game 3.

Florida let the VGK back into the game. I don't see the Panthers winning the cup.

Panthers win in OT. Thought VGK got a few calls that the Panthers didn't. Glad to see FL staying alive.

I only got to see a short highlight clip. Seemed like an exciting game.

I have no stakes in the game but want it to go the distance, and exciting OT games as well.
