Penguins 23-24

I think it's going to be a long night...Pens are totally outmatched

This is a different team this period. Still, the fundamentals are lacking. We are losing most everything in the neutral zone, can't get a forecheck going, sloppy sticks, etc.
 
Would have been great to hear Mike Lange call that goal by Jarry.
 
I wonder if the Malkin-Doc pairing is going to stick? They seem to play really well together.
 
Whoever put up the game summary stats for the post game earned high marks. It included both goalies as usual with their save percentage etc, and for Jarry included 1 goal scored. For Vasilevsky, the stat read, "No goals scored". 🤣
 
Congrats to Jarry! It only took 57 seasons for a Penguins goalie to score! He should bronze that puck.

Um - ha,, I wonder if dat Jarry kid can sling a football wit dat stick. 🤣
 
I thought they played pretty well overall but the power play is cold as dead ice. I can't remember who said it but for such good talent they seem to have trouble targeting their shots. Ripping the puck 100 mph 3 feet over the goal won't cut it.
 
The reason Jarry loses a lot of break aways, is the reason I don't like him in shoot outs.

I was the one that said Sullivan must line them up and have them practice missing the net. I think Jake missed 3 times in a row on the one power play last night.

The power play is all perimeter shots and passing. They try to get a deflection goal with Sid sometimes but its never in sync.

If they keep giving up shorthanded goals the other teams will probably start committing penalties on purpose lol. Getting the be a pretty common occurrence.
 
Sid!! Jake and Sid are leading the whole league in goals during 5 on 5. They are now 7 points above any other duo on any line.
