Penguins 23-24

You nailed it. Something stinks in Denmark.
Maybe the strategy all along was to conserve their energy until the last possible moment and then play good hockey... ;)

Started watching the game. Once Vancouver scored on PP to go up 2-0, I turned it off and went to bed. Seemed like Vancouver was skating circles around the Pens. Maybe me watching is a jinx?

Glad I stayed up to watch that....Just one of those games where the Pens looked like the better team everywhere but on the scoreboard. What a pisser...

No Jake and no Rusty. Rough way to play a game.

Missed last night’s game. Sounded like they just had bad puck luck
Maybe They really played a good game. They out played the Kraken in most ways, except that annoying scoreboard.

They have Grubauer listed as 6-1, 188 lbs. He must have had enough stuffing in his equipment to fill a friggin phone booth.

He was a lucky sumbrich

Looking good in Calgary tonight. 2-1 at this point. We are out playing them. The one goal came on a neutral zone TO.

Our second goal was on a PP, so that is improvement.

What a crappy ending. How to lose like crippled women.

Unbelievable, but not really.

What a disappointing outcome. Up 3-1 in the 3rd and lose 4-3. I think it’s past time to rebuild, maybe even bring in a new coach.

If it were me, the only player safe at the deadline is Sid. Period. Tell Geno and Letang to figure out where they want to go and move them both while they have any semblance of value left. Move Karlsson to wherever. Figure out what to do with Jarry, Rust, Guentzel, Rackell. Trade Carter for a small coffee and a puck autographed by Sean Avery. Try to build some draft capital and start rebuilding.

It’s been a great run but it’s obviously over. Time to move on.

Went to bed after the first and it looked like the Pens were going to walk away with it. Glad I didn't stay up to watch the rest of it.

Not sure anyone can disagree with this. Rusty is an injury prone guy. Jake is Robin, not batman. DOC has so much hustle, I might keep him. Pettersen too.

Jarry is just bad. He can not be relied on to put the game away.

This team has talent on paper, but wayyyyyy too often they play men’s league beer hockey.

Sullivan has to be on a short leash!

The rebuild is closer then we think

Retain Sid and fire sell everything else. Malkin and Letang can retire. Malkin looks done.

Letang, the guy can be really good but is also a turnover machine.

Everyone else is just there at this point.

Sullivan’s system does them no purpose. They should switch philosophy to a cycle team, a puck possession team. They’re not a dump & chase team. They lack that speed.

I hope so. The team needs a refresh big time. As others have said, the only guy I'm keeping is Crosby.

If I was the head coach, this is just food for thought from the way the team blows leads. This is on coaching.

Anytime the Pens get a 2 goal lead. I’ve noticed they switch to a defensive mindset. Which is fine but they’re easily pinned back when they become defensive.
1. They look for the fancy outlook pass. Anytime they do have success clearing it results in icing for the other teams favor
2. Lack of physicality. Easy to pin them back when they’re scared to get hit. They never really get possession of the puck because they’re pushed around in their own end which in turn puts pressure on the goalie.

These guys just need to skate up into the neutral zone instead of trying to pass their way out.

The issue isn’t goaltending. The issue is defensive collapse when taking a lead

You blame that on Jarry?

I blame it on Letang who has been constantly getting beat the last several games leading to goals.

Those two goals he gave up last night in the 3rd were highlight reels for the other team.

This whole deal needs dumped to get the rebuild started.

Pens are Steelers 2.0 right now.

It’s sad that it has to end, but it’s time. Keeping Malkin and Letang was a bad idea. I get the sentiment of wanting to keep them together, but every playoff season since 2017 showed it wasn’t going to work.

It was a great run and a fun era. I’ll miss the excitement, but it’s time to start building for the next era.
