Penguins 24-25

Pens traded Lars Eller to the Caps for a 2025 5th round pick and a 2027 3rd rounder per the Pens official FB page.
the beginning of the fire sale?

Maybe... Another pickup who didn't live up to expectations. He started off the year strong though, then....

Look, the big three aren’t winning another cup. In fact, I doubt they’ll ever see the playoffs again. Time to start rebuilding is now. Get what you can for anyone of value and stock pile picks. If you draft well enough, make a couple savvy free agent moves you can be right back in the mix in a year or two, three at most.

I just knew that when overtime was coming, that we wouldn't get it done.

Had the game on in the background. Didn't even really watch it. Like the post Leyland Bucs, they're done. No surprise.

I was looking at the standings trying to figure out how the Pens weren't in last place. Then I saw that the two teams below them have played 2 and 3 less games, respectively. This sucks. They hung on too long.

The only thing giving me hope is the fact that the Penguins have 29 picks in rounds 1-3 over the next three years (according to an article I read on Triblive). Draft well, and they may not be down and out for long.

I hope they move on from this "Everyone is a center or winger" thing, and build a defense.

I hope they move on from the collection of geriatrics they have taking the ice every night.

I thought 29 sounded ridiculously high. Thanks.

My draft philosophy would be to select every Western Canadian and US born players available, that are at least 6 foot and weigh more than 210 pounds.
Period.

I may tune into this evenings game vs Columbus. They suck just as bad as the Pens right now or at least their record is the same.

Don’t bother..
Just watched the most lifeless Pens period performance ever ..
And I’ve been a fan since 1972.

Well maybe since last games first period performance.

Just got in from hunting. I guess I don't have the game. Maybe that's a good thing.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I just looked at the score down 3-2 near the end of 2 with 12 whole shots on goal.

Yep, I'm going to the gym. That will be much more productive with my time.

Good idea...

Im watching Jesse Waters and keeping an eye on the Wyoming=Colorado st score.

I watched the 2nd and 3rd. This is just sad. There is something horribly wrong here. This team was never going to be great, but they just shouldn’t be this bad. What a fall.
