True, but I still see lots to hope about. This team has much more of the "it" factor than the last few have had, IMO.

They let in 5 goals on just 16 shots.

Our defense is still not the best, but better. Silovs is a great guy, but has his weaknesses. Particularly at glove side, high.
I'm not saying that we are hoisting the cup. I'm saying we have much more this year than the last few.

Oh I'm still optimistic,and they could really use Sid and Geno back. Which will be after one more game for Geno. Sid I'd figure within the next two weeks.
Did we reacquire Jarry?!?
I know the dude between the pipes just shut them out about a week ago, but sometimes it’s better to throw a different goalie out there to change it up a bit, especially after playing them so recently.
If we could somehow pull out three points in the next two games, I’ll be ecstatic..
After we come back from the West Coast, I’m assuming both players have a possibility of being back on the ice for the stretch run.

I think they could do themselves a service and move on from Letang. The guy did a lot of great things for the Pens, and I know a lot of fans think he “deserves” to retire a Penguin, but the guy looks done. Well done, in fact. Granted, I’ve not seen as many games this season as you guys, but whatever he had is long gone and the guy is a liability defensively any time he’s on the ice. There’s times I’m convinced he and Geno are engaged in a turnover contest.
I don’t think Dubas is going to bring Geno back. At least, I don’t think he wants to. Let Geno walk, trade Letang for a late pick or send him down to WBS and let someone claim him off waivers. Surely there’s a guy who can at least play a modicum of defense.

Letang is now a non-value added participant.. It happens to the best of them.
They also just acquired Girard.,. Who’s game at the blue line position mirrors what Letang used to be able to offer..
So now we have three defenseman who are more offensively skilled than defensively in my opinion.
Out of the six that dress every game that is at least one offensively minded defenseman more than should take the ice.. especially now with the playoff run and then hopefully into the playoffs, when having strong defensively minded blue liners are critical.

Agreed. Love them both. I actually purchased my 1st ever Malkin jersey recently.
They are both done.
