Pens and Sully Part Ways

This is surprising. He should have been released two years ago, IMO, but wasn't. I thought that he would weather the storm

Sully wasn't the problem for what ails the organization, it's FSG itself. They hired Hextall who completely dry humped this organization into contractual hell, brought in aging, worthless, players and made trades that left even the most casual fan scratching their scalps raw. But hey, let's get rid of a coach worthy of representing team USA in the 2022 Olympics and more recently, in the Four Nations tournament because the pens missed the playoffs.

Pittsburgh sports are turning into a real ******* joke as of late.

Sounds like they came to the parting of ways because they had different paths forward.
Since Sullivan's hands were tied on the dumb old guy contracts/trades, he probably insisted on a housecleaning that will not happen.

This sounds like the perfect landing spot for a guy with 18 consecutive Tomlinships!! Slightly different sport, but he is not a strategy or X/O guy anyways. First pro Crossover coach!
Just like Ted Lasso!!! All in Pittsburgh!

Wow, wasn't expecting this. Sully was a big 3 casualty. They should have been broken up and the rebuild started a few years ago. When a team feels they owe aging players the right to go out on their own terms it never ends well.
Short of buying them out they are stuck with them. Letang and Gino’s play have been so poor and inconsistent that you’d never get anything for them. Not at those contract values.

You'd have to make a Russell Wilson deal to move them.
