I love the guy’s desire and think he’s immensely talented but if someone in the organization doesn’t smack some sense into him and explain that this is a team game, he’s going to turn into a massive detriment to the team. Honestly, I don’t have a good feeling about his future as as Steeler based on his first 12 games. And sadly it has nothing to do with his on-field performance.

I think he'll get over it. Part of it was attitude. But just as much was it was like a homecoming game for him and he wanted the ball. Pickens will be fine.

I get it but they had him double-covered most of the game so focusing on Diontae was the right approach despite the drops…

Unfortunately I only saw the hilights and listened to the broadcast. Like I said I think he'll be okay with what happened sooner rather than later. Just a case of wanting to do well in Atlanta combined with immaturity.

The problem is Pickens had questionable character coming in and has had a few other moments where he was pouting or just had bad body language. It is becoming a trend with him and it is definitely concerning considering he is only a rookie.

They get good late wr talent, but it always seems to come with a price. Simple as this Son. Never ***** when we win. Team before self

George Pickens is a very energentic raw kid that wants to play, win and wants to be an integral part of that team effort. What you are seeing is his immaturity but he is a kid (21 years old)....cut the young man some slack. You will forget about all this when he really starts to produce and pay dividends. If you wanna talk about a guy who had attitude problems as a rookie.......anyone remember Mean Joe Greene as a rookie? He was uncontrollable! Even his own teammates FEARED the guy!

I agree he needs to shut up in front of the cameras. But we missed a couple big plays not looking his way. Another one Muth actually turned into a big gainer. It’s hard because I don’t want to sling the ball. This run first formula might get us a few more W’s. But we have to get Pickens involved and involved early.

I wasnt able to watch today's game. What happened?

Pickens was whining all game about not getting targets and when Diontae bobbled the almost-fumble they caught him on camera shouting “throw me the fing ball”…

I suppose that guy that catches nearly everything thrown his way should just STFU and be content watching a rookie QB lock onto a less talented WR who catches 50% of the balls thrown his way then fumbles a good deal of the ones he catches…but yeah he’s the problem.

DJ been crying’ for weeks for more targets so I would say that Pickens should really be a LOT more squeaky if he wants some targets…being quiet in this mess ain’t gonna get ya noticed

He needs to say “Throw me the ball, I won’t drop it”.
In DJs defense he catches about half the balls thrown his way and only fumbles about 5-10% of the ones he catches AND he’s a super elite red zone target too

He was open all damn day
But yeah keep throwing to DropJohnson

KP was just being a rookie locking on to DJ cuz he’s been whiny for weeks now

I would say out of your first 5 pass plays DJ, Pickens and Muth all should have 1 target. Get them involved early.

your top 2 receivers are both complaining about not getting the ball enough

soon to be a problem

the announcers even said throwing to Pickens "trying to get him involved"

there were 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. awful.

Id say it was pretty clear DJ was tge primary read on most plays and they were force feeding him the ball… he had something like 11 targets in a run heavy gameplan…

Im telling you that next week Pickens will be forced the ball, but the Ratbirds will probably be ready for it because we are predictable

I was thinking “is this why Pickens lasted well into the 2nd round” during his temper tantrum.

His maturity was questioned before the combine. That, plus his injury history, allowed us to get him. Love the talent and I kinda can't blame him because this offense blows ***. I actually agree he is not getting nearly enough targets.

Did he have similar behavioral issues while at UGA? If he didn’t, maybe it was because they were winning championships over there and now he has to play on a team that isn’t winning much. He runs the risk of becoming the next NFL diva, ala T.O., Dez Bryant, Ochocinco, Keyshawn “throw me the damn ball!”, etc. if he doesn’t get his head on straight. Try this: go to your WR coach, QB, OC, and let them know what you’re seeing in the defense, what coverage they’re putting on you, their weaknesses from your pov, make suggestions, etc. Throwing a tantrum brings no constructive results. I’m sure all good WRs want more targets… then instead of crying about it like a petulant child who doesn’t get his way, be a team player and rally those around you to support you.

There’s no doubting his incredible natural talent. But what this young man needs – and soon – is someone to mentor him (paging Mr. Ward) to not only teach the position but a few life lessons. I don’t know anything about Frisman Jackson so I can’t speak to his ability to fill this role. Cam and other team leaders only have so much time during a game/season to talk to the kid… he needs a one-on-one mentor.
