Pitt unfortunately is in the no man's land for hiring coaches... If a coach is successful, he will quickly bolt for a bigger and better job. If a coach is unsuccessful, he will get fired. If a coach stays at Pitt long term, then he has probably had a sustained period of slighlty better than mediocrity. This is just an outsider's point of view...
In this day and age everywhere risks losing good head coaches... you cant let that deter you on hires... I mean urban Meyer left a freaken national championship program. Some may go for other programs with more prestige, others for more money, others for ties to their past, and others for the NFL... none are totally safe
