Playoff win

And this is always the problem. Bad secondary, bad oline, bad receivers, Bad QB play. every year its a bad something, maybe we should just accept that its average coaching that gets us an average outcome every year.

We will never overcome this or that bad thing until we get new coaching and a change of the guard within ownership.
The ONLY years we didn't have bad OL play was either from Cowher after effects or Munch was here, other than that, it's been a bad OL every year.

The injuries are Tomlin’s excuse for the 2024 end of season meltdown. He will get ANOTHER free pass.

Since Russ took over we were top 6 in scoring offense
The problem in the playoffs has the D giving up almost 400 points a game. They are better this year, will only give up 375.

This D can not get itself off the field against a quality team, it doesn’t matter how many points the O puts up.

Tomlin has proven since 2016 that he can't miracle a win in the playoffs.
This year will be no different.
The standard IS the standard......which is never a losing season and never a playoff win since 2016.
The standard is substandard.

So, the good years you refuse to give him any credit but put it all on him for the bad years. Typical and expected.

Brian Thomas is tearing it up in Jacksonville too. Might be a different team if we had him.
Yep…
Been on that wagon since draft day!
Couldn’t believe we past on a proven big play receiver..especially with our receiver room!
I liked him better than Nabers coming out of LSU… and still do!

When the Tomlin Fan Club says another team would hire him immediately I always reply with “Good, I hope we face his new team in the playoffs.” It’s always crickets after that.

Of course, and they will always be ready with their excuses: Oh but we had injuries. Every team has them, they don't need excuses.

The "good years" were only when Munch was here, when where the"other" good years? How many years do you need to rebuild an OL? 2? 3? He stopped being OL coach in 2018, the OL went south right then, refusal of draft stocking the OL led to its demise. It's 2024. 6 years later. The OL is still crippled, 6 years later. Tomlin has f---d it up 6 years later; it's still no good. Does is usually take over 6 years to fix it? I've seen coaches fix it in 1 year. Tomlin still hasn't fixed it in 6. What's your excuse?

It is getting good and has been but was handicapped by a bad OC. Any year it was good is a credit to Tomlin or you can't blame him for the bad years. You don't get to cherry pick the rules to fuel your irrational amount of hate.

You never answered the questions posed to you in this thread boot licker:

When was the last good year for the offensive line?

When was the last good year for this team?

How much grace does Tomlin get compared to every other coach who’d be kicked out the door for not winning a play off game in 7 years?

Oh and who picked and oversaw those OC’s that "handicap" poor Mikes offense?

Facts kinda suck for your arguments don’t they?

The problem is that Tomlin has coached the Steelers for 18 seasons now and the OL has been a weakness for the vast majority of them.

It's clearly a common theme with his teams.

The same can almost be said for the secondary, especially since the DBs Tomlin inherited from Cowher retired.

The inability to draft and develop DBs has been pretty glaring under Tomlin. They've had some success going outside the organization with the likes of Joe Haden and Minkah Fitzpatrick, but even Minkah has gone from Allpro to Mr. Invisible over the past couple seasons.

confirmed footage of @SteelerInLebanon on game day Sundays before kickoff (and even during games when we look like crap):

we are tied for 10th in the league in ppg. Which is ahead of KC. Only a few teams are really lighting it up this year
The only thing that matters is winning in the playoffs. Who really cares how many points they score against the bungles or the stains when the POs start?

The only proxy for that is in season games vs playoff teams. I've got 1-1 vs Rats and Philly, with very low Offence marks in both games.

We can hope for greater than one'n'done, but there are no indications the O is capable of this yet.

That sword cuts both ways. Two of Shades' three playoff wins in the last fourteen years came against backup QB's.

Coming from I think 24th last season to where we are now is the much needed improvement.

Our 1st down average 3.1 yards which is around 30th.

Our 2nd down play is about 28-ish

Our 3rd down conversion rate in very high, like 13-ish, if my memory serves right. I could be off but, all three are just out of uneducated memory.

Salute the nation
