Playoffs?

Making the playoffs won't make any difference at all, we've seen this before. Of course it will produce another Tomlin trophy, so I guess that's something.

However, if you must, Houston and Indy need to lose as much as possible, and the Stillers need to win out.

What's more important at this point, a one and done playoff loss, or 4 spots higher in the draft next year?

One week at a time gotta beat seahags and ravens beat dolphins then have nothing to play for in final game. Low probability but not impossible and need LV and TN wins this weekend. Can't say it isn't exciting but also terrifying watching ravens style of play now makes me uncomfortable of their chances

Yes yes by all means give the entire organization a reason to keep the status quo.

Winning Saturday probably set us back years if you only knew it.
Hard inner debate or not?

You want the team to win but think they are stuck in a revolving Groundhog day. Every win that I enjoy and crave comes with the realization change doesn't come with .500 football. But you can't bring yourself to want a loss. At least I can't.

Something new needs to transpire. The approach to hiring coordinators. The old way can't be allowed to duplicate. Or allow a new head coach to happen. One of the two.

I think many capable coordinators don't want to work under Tomlin. I would not be surprised if some are steered away. It's a dead end.

If that is taking place then you have to make a HC change. You have to give yourself the best opportunity to win.

It more than likely secured the HC job for three more years.

Salute the nation

it is scary that we could possibly beat the seahawks and then the Ratbirds sit their starters out after getting the #1 seed and we eek out a win there......then all the Tomlin lovers say see we told you soooo, and were screwed for years to come.....

Same old, same old, one win and suddenly the losses to back to back 2 win teams and a loss in what they called a playoff game vs the Colts, the players **** effort is suddenly forgotten.
Great game by Mason, but I don't see that being sustainable at all.

One element of that game that isn't talked about much is turnovers. 17 points off of turnovers will help most QBs cause and sink others.

Rudy played well but he got some help.

i say they're going to take an as.s-kicking the next two weeks and we'll have laughed at ever entertaining the notion that this might have been a playoff-caliber team.
You're probably right. And I get the idea of losing out to maybe get out of the rut we're in but I can't stand losing and usually losing only feeds more losing. It's often a hard habit to break. In 5-10 years we might look back and wish we were 500. Hope not but who knows.

There is no guarantee losing both of the next two games would bring change. I am actually leaning in the direction that it wouldn't.

I agree. I gave up on the team prior to last week, i watched the game but had 0 interest. I didn't even have a beer. Even after the dust settled it was like, we've seen this before. That said for the first time all season, I saw something in the that gave me some hope and that was Highsmith's good words he had to say about Rudolph. He seemed genuine.

MR was doing very well up until the Myles Garrett fiasco. That totally derailed him and he also had to deal with concussions etc. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. I think the team will go as far as he goes and who knows, if it was meant to be then maybe they'll find a way into the playoffs.

The 89 season and Bus' last season are examples of you never know what'll happen so long as the team can win out to end the season. I'd still rather watch a Steeler playoff game that they're totally outmatched in vs watching bowling. So what the hell...

Options include: 1) Tomlin doesn’t want to hire people that would threaten his position, 2) Tomlin just sucks at hiring or 3) folks don’t want to coach for Tomlin. Or some mix of all or some of the foregoing. I tend to think it’s a mix.
