Depends. There’s always loopholes. However like Booted said rogue cops do exist and this past year has given me a wake up. I’m red blooded American as they come but I’ve been stereotyped a few times this past year

I got pulled over last year for a supposed tail light being burnt out. I get home from work later that day to find my tail light was fine. Why the cop pulled me over idk?

I used to laugh at people when they would use their skin color as an excuse, but after the whole election thing. Being dark skinned seriously has lot of downsides. I’ve resorted to doing most of my shopping curbside or delivery. Sucks being followed around in the store

Its not just black people, though racist cops exist… i can tell you dozens of stories of cops abusing power on white as ghost guys or women… now there are plenty of good cops out there, and those people should be rewarded to eternity and back for the **** they put up with. But the bad cops need weeded out better…

Blm was a racist, socialist movement… had someone just started a movement to police the police and demilitarize them a bit rather than the absurd idea to handcuff and defund them , it would have been far more successful … it’s actually a moderate talking point…

More white people are killed by police than black people every year…many that haven’t crossed the line to lethal force being required its not an exclusive issue to minorities like the press plays it out as…

I know. It goes both ways. It really changes your outlook when it happens to you first hand.

Cops are a service of our taxes. So they essentially work for us. I’m a man of the law justifiably so. However there are a lot of rogue cops who are racist. Whether black, white, brown.

It has nothing to do with the color of your skin, people are just fascinated with human oddities.



I've had some bad experiences with certain cops too. I don't know if it's just how their day is going or the type of vehicle you're driving, but it's a head scratcher. Darker colored skin definitely gets the shortest end of the stick though.

Watch the movie "The Mule" and you'll see a couple examples that are absolutely true to life in my experience (of hanging out with chicanos etc.). In Mejico, I used to think they'd single me out because I was a gringo with American plates. While they definitely will because the typical gringo doesn't speak Spanish or knows how to interact/negotiate with them, they really don't discriminate on color, they just want your dinero.

6% of that demographic is men...and 3-4% of that demographic are crime-committing-aged men. Add in 1% for some violent crimes committed by black females in that demographic. You are left with the stark reality: 4-5% of our population commit 70+% of violent crimes.

Of course police are going to target that group.

Digressing a little...Guess what happened with defund the police, and all of these efforts to "back off of" policing the way it used to be done? Skyrocketing crime rates across the country. And since George Floyd, the murder rate among blacks has skyrocketed everywhere.

Even blacks by majority oppose defund the police and WANT them.

Not everyone composes themselves the way you or I would getting stopped even if nothing wrong.

To your last statement...I'm thinking that most of the violent crime associated with the said demographic is committed within the major cities so "targeting" wouldn't apply when the majority of the population is black.

Targeting black people far and away from the big city is a touchy situation. .

I don't know that police target that group as much as that group does things that attract the attention of the police more so than other demographics.
When you can define it that narrowly then that group becomes a target.
My take on BLM and the Defund The Po-lees'ers is that they see a disproportionate number of blacks being arrested but refuse to acknowledge that they commit a disproportionate number of crimes and instead the only answer is less laws and less law enforcement.
If I was a minority I'd be insulted by that.
Unfortunately we've gotten to a place where suggesting that maybe minorities should commit less crime is seen as rayciss.

Cops have the same issue all public sector unions have: you can't weed out the bad ones. The stupid unions stand in the way of any meaningful and common sense job performance reviews.

It's not that I'm anti-union, but Public Unions actually HURT the country in that they protect very bad employees in very important positions: police, EMT's, teachers, county/city employees. It's a joke.

The whole purpose of unions is to balance the power of ownership vs. the power of employees. In public union cases the OWNER IS US! The taxpayer. What power to we have really? Any major employment issue can be fought and won in the court of public opinion and through the voters box. It's just such a destructive idea that has taken root in our country, supported by democrats (because ANYTHING with union in front of it is supported without any thought), and now almost impossible to weed out.

These professions do not need unions. Period.
