If you were the GM and had to choose where to invest money in FA, what's your favorite position to invest this offseason?
OFFENSE:
- QB? I think we all agree a non expensive bridge QB isthe way to go, I'm still pushing for Fields as he has a decent florr and a higher ceiling than anyone else available
- WR? Obvious choice but there won't be much of a market, Higgins probably stays in cincy, same for Godwin with tampa. So that leaves old names like Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Cooper. This last one could be interesting
- OG? are we trusting the 4th round rookie to improve and give him the starting nod or do we bring a proven starter to compete? There are some long in the tooth vets available that shouldn't be That expensive and can give you a year or two.
- OT? almost same as above, we need depth here but don't want to break the bank after investing two 1st rounders.
- RB? We should go the draft route here, maybe bring a vet that needs a prove it deal after injury, cheap and cuttable
- TE? just cut Pruytt, bring another cheap vet for depth
DEFENSE
I know we already have a shitload of cap allocated here, but the truth is we are missing a starting CB, a starting NCB and a starting DL, so ...
- CB? This looks like a deep free agent pool, wouldn't mind taking a big swing here and securing starter that can also mentor JPJ
- NCB? someone must be brought to compete with Beanie, Sutton is toast.
- DL? you know it, even investing a high pick in the draft we should bring a FA to substitute Larry O, even if not a big signing, someone younger that can compete and rotate
- ILB? no thanks I'm fine
- OLB? look above
- S? Elliot is a Steeler Player through and through, Minkah is in second to last contract year, he will improve his play to guarantee a new contract here or somewhere else.
So, I would swing for the fences at CB, thus leaving more picks available for a deep draft at DL, WR and RB. We can pick a nickel/outside CB in mid rounds too, same for OT/OG.
