No chance Tomlin gets fired mid-season and almost no chance he gets fired end of season. Unless the offense magically catches fire Canada will be gone end of season. If they continue to score 1 TD per game I think there is a good chance Canada wont make it through the season. The media, fans, ex coaches, and players are all over him right now. Even Tomlin / Rooney can not hide from all of that this year.

The offense will continue to struggle and Canada will have a reduced role in game planning.
Who will pick up the slack? I dunno, I don't know if this staff has the cahones to limit him.

Tomorrow is the litmus test. If we score our current average of 9.5 offensive points in 2 games so far, it's seriously time to evaluate what's going on. And I don't want to hear Cam is hurt, DJ is hurt, etc. Or, next man up. Other really good teams deal with injuries.

Canada gets extended 3 years in his contract.
Sullivan rides out the season as interim OC. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is Meyer, Glenn Thomas or Frisman Jackson either 59 be the interim till the end of the season. Then you’ll have another Rooney hire as OC for 2024
And a report is out there that Canada will be MORE involved in the offense...more involved with Kenny Pickett. It's like making the robber the head of security for the bank.

There's a report floating around out there (from Alex Kazora) that the Steelers are giving Matt Canada a more prominent role in the offense and making him Kenny Pickett's right hand man. If this report is true first off I'm OUTRAGED and 2nd how ******* st00pid is our owner and front office to do this? I mean Matt Canada took over in 2021 and took a very good offense and it has become today the worst offense in the NFL in terms of yardage, first downs, yards per attempt, scoring, run blocking, pass blocking. I mean you can go on and on........what are they seeing that we aren't seeing when it comes to Matt Canada? 90% under center the Steelers run the ball, 82% of the time in Shotgun they pass the ball. No play action passing game to speak of.....the play calling is so predictible opposing Defenses are absolutely blowing up the Steelers Offense. If this continues Mike Tomlin and Matt Canada should both be FIRED! Hell with this offense you can't even properly evaluate Kenny Pickett. I actually feel bad for him that they haven't gotten him a quality OC or surrounded him with good coaching. Look at what Eric Bienemy is doing in Washington....this is how you coach a young QB....what he has done with Sam Howell through 2 games is nothing short of amazing. I'm concerned we will ruin Kenny Pickett and he will take the blame for this offense when it's obvious that Matt Canada is the problem. SAD DAY TO BE A STEELER FAN! We will get destroyed in Vegas tonight. My prediction is 37-13.
Guys they could bring in as a sr offensive assistant without reappointing a new OC…
A.Byron Leftwich.. of the ex Steelers QB options, he is the most realistic. Ben and Charlie have said they aren’t looking to coach… Tee Martin and Randel El are working as positional coaches and it isn’t the Steelers MO to take a coach under contract midseason… Gradkowski is an XFL OC, but Leftwich has more NFL experience….
The rest would be more assistant head coaches as well…
B. Kenn Wisenhunt. Currently consulting for Alabama. Would be a way back into the NFL for him…
C Jon Gruden. Currently a consultant for New Orleans…. Not really on the coaching staff.
D Kliff Kingsbury. Qb Guru is currently a qb coach for USC… he runs the modern offense they want to pretend they have…
E. Jason Garrett.another ex head coach with a good reputation for offensive strategy and development he is in the booth right now, but probably isn’t looking to move there permanently.

I'd take a 12 year old Madden Videogamer over Matt Canada as our OC. Yes it's that bad!
Actually the raiders defense is a huge mess, so this could be a game where the O looks great regardless of how it is constructed or called… my suggestion would be to take how they look tonight and add it to how they looked the past two then somewhere in the middle is the truth… if they look amazingly good, they are probably average… if they suck… well… they suck

NO! AND HELL NO! You wonder why they can't run the football it's because of predcitible play calling....90% under center they run the ball. 82% in Shotgun they pass the ball. No play action passing game to speak of. Throwing passes 80% of the time outside the numbers to the outer 1/3 of the football field. You might be better off letting the opposing teams Defensive signal caller listen in on the huddle. Anyone who thinks this is a problem with execution by the players I'm sorry you couldn't be more wrong! I'm going to chart this tonight to prove my point! The Steelers will not win this game tonight! Don't forget we have Teryl Austin as our DC too....and he's awful as well!
Im not saying that its just execution.. but you can be utterly predictable and trump a bad D… that doesn’t mean that the offense is doing well or is suddenly fixed any more than overreacting to bad performances against good D’s means it’s irrevocably broken … I expect them to look better tonight but I don’t think that is going to mean much overall

I looked it up. Ave OCs make about a million. Letting him continue is absolutely insane. Agreed about Top Gun Tomlin.

But what constitutes better? This offense has been consistently anemic since 2019. They played some crummy teams the second half of the season last year and looked “better” because they won, but in reality, they were the same rotten offense we’re watching now. They couldn’t score, they had a ton of three and outs, and yardage was at a premium. I know they’re not looking for style points, but were they really better? Not really.
