Prediction Thread: Week 1 at Bengals

Steelers get torched by Burrow. Our DB's have not been tested in the pre-season.

Bungles 27
Steelers 17

Bengals 28
Steelers 20

Until the OL shows that they are capable of moving people and protecting the qb, our point total will hover here. Devin Bush and Spillane will be picked on running and passing. I don't like being pessimistic about the Steelers on opening day but the preseason did nothing to inspire confidence in our improvement in those areas. Hope I got crow on my chin sunday evening.

Meaningful football is back and hope springs eternal but alas, 27-6 Queen City

Cant see us pulling this one off....but said the same before last years opener...

So....same final score as last years game one..

Steelers - 23
Opposing team that was supposed to win - 16

Can't imagine Steelers win this one, but hoping they are super competitive and hang around and pull out a win late.

What the f--k happened to the SteelerNation I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest game of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. Ooh, we're afraid of the Bungles, we might lose. Well, just kiss my *** from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Burrows, he's a dead man! Chase, dead! Mixon...

Steelers 34 bungholes 17…. Burrow gets picked twice and sacked three times… our oline does just enough…

Also Bush makes a super play that nobody expected

I don't know man. I don't think it's a lack of guts or spirit, but rather the reality of the offensive line. That's my whole problem with this team. I think the O-line as currently constructed is going to cost the Steelers all season, especially early while they try to get their **** together. It's not being afraid of the Bengals or losing. It's seeing something for what it is.

Close first half. Bengals 10, Steelers 6. Second half Mixon pops and Burrows takes advantage of safeties coming down in the box as coach cool shades makes 0 half time adjustments. Final

Bengals- 34
Steelers- 12

Burrows 312 3 tds 1 int
Mixon 112 1 td
Chase 155 1 td
Higgins 92 2 tds

Trubisky 212 0 td 2 ints
Najee 83 rushing 43 receiving
Claypool 97 0 tds
Freiermuth 55 0 tds

Steelers 24
Bengals 21

TJ gets the game ball with 2 sacks a FF and a key tipped ball that leads to an INT setting the offense up twice on a short field for scores.

Najee gets 22 rushes for 44 yards and a TD, somehow he amasses 100 yards after contact tho

Bushy gets 6 tackles, all assists where he touches the pile after the runner has been safely tackled down

Winning ugly

Mostly a plagiarized movie quote, meant to lighten things up a little. Any given Sunday, and that sort of thing.

I keep going back and forth on this game. We know the Steelers OL is a question mark but so is the Bengals. They Bengals have 4 new starters on the OL. There is a scenario where the steeler pass rush dominates and keeps the game close. Defensively, Cincy isn't great. If the rebuilt OL can be adequate, the steelers have a real shot.

We've been hearing about this creative Canada offense that he supposedly couldn't run with Ben. I think that's a cop out but whatever. It's possible that the Canada will keep the Bengals guessing with a lot of new wrinkles they've never seen.

Or maybe Canada will flush most of the first half down the toilet with ineffective scripted plays and the Steelers will find themselves in a hole too big to escape.

I'm going back and forth between 31-17 Bengals and 27-24 Steelers.

I'll be an optimist and go with
Steelers 27
Bengals 24

I believe this year will not turn out so well. This line will lose more game than win. Hard to believe we can go into Bungal land and win when look how much they dominated the last few games against the Steelers. Hoping for an immaculate replay.

Steelers 17
Bungals 16
