Preseason game 4 Steelers vs Carolina

Pretty sure there was more **** than just the O-line. 98% of the backups are crap. Maybe looking at a top 5 pick next year..LOL

@dlolleyor: Landry Jones was 14-18 which is good, for 97 yards, which is not #Steelers. More importantly, no points

I have never been so ambivalent about the final Steeler cuts, the backups are so pedestrian with so little upside it won't mater who is cut or kept.

Do they have to keep 53?

What did you think of your team's execution? I'm in favor of it.

We will run up to the podium with 14 plus minutes on the clock and pick an athlete with below average measurables if history is a guide.

If we're picking in the top 10 next year it will be a different regime making the pick. At this point, that would be the better course of events.

Well let's hear what was so great about the game. People complain there is too much negativity. Tell us all the great things we missed.

Am i supposed to get excited that Jarvis was able to hop on a fumble on a snap over a QB's head? I guess he got a little better push this week but it was against a backup LT.

Tomlin and Colbert will not be fired if we went 3-13 this year

Exactly right. There is no way Tomlin or Colbert is going anywhere after this year. The Steelers don't do anything quickly.... except run their card to the commish on draft day.

I still think we can make the playoffs if our starters stay healthy. Its (insert Tomlins voice here) OBVIOUS we lack depth at most positions.

Seriously just keep two QBs.

What clock? Usually we make it known pre-draft whom we're targeting, then take them regardless of workouts or interviews. I can't remember our last first-round pick that surprised anyone.

If we pick top-5 next year, I truly believe we would take a prospect no one else would take top-10.

Could we pick old and slow with medical issues to go with a great pedigree and nice college stats.

Living on the eastern side of the state, I know a bit about the Phillies. They are remarkable in their ability to take any good feelings fans have at the beginning of the season and smashing them.

The Steelers are rapidly becoming like the Phillies.

Pretty far from Philly fans. You have to be beaten down since birth and never know what a championship is like in ANY sport first. Then you have to boo everything and everyone who comes to your home stadiums (including your own team). They will boo their own players before opposing fans ever get a chance to make fun of them. Their players are shell-shocked, and most hate playing there. Then when your team does get lucky and wins one, every season that isn't a championship is an absolute failure, since it was so easy to do it that one year...

I don't think anyone had Shazier as our pick this year, pre-draft.

Do Cam Hayward and Ryan Shazier fit this mold??? I do believe they'll be difference makers for a long time in the league...JMO.

From what I say, on the stream - I missed the first 20 mins - we played vanilla plays on D and we still got pressure on the QB's. Jarvis looked like he's more than a piece of coal and the necessary pressure to turn him into a diamond has been applied (we'll have to see as the season progresses). Ryan Shazier, IMO, could lead the team in tackle - HE'S EVERYWHERE! Ike is still Ike - glad we only have one year left with him. The other DB's showed promise, all but Ike - I think.

We had some injuries (see the thread) that I hope aren't too serious. But, what does one expect from a 4th preseason game???

The best news is that Landry has a for sale sign on all of his belongings in da 'Burgh - well, at least he SHOULD have signs on his stuff - Brandon Kay should be keep to learn the system; even in his first outing, of preseason, he just looked like he needed less Brasso to shine his poop than Landry does...

By this time tomorrow we'll know the final 53 - that's good news!

Does this mean you don't approve of the Shazier pick this year??? I'll admit, he wasn't on my radar - but, he's WAAAAAY better than Larry Foote and Vince Williams.

Guess we should have picked a DB at 1.15 instead???

The cryboys thought we were going in another direction because they were going to draft him next pick. Don't think that was the case with Jarvis.
