The rabbi scheduled to deliver remarks at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration charged President Barack Obama as an anti-Semite.
According to a Wednesday news release sent to Mic News, Rabbi Marvin Hier, dean and founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, will participate in the January 20th inauguration ceremony with five other faith leaders.
The five other faith leaders speaking at Trump’s inauguration announced by the transition team Wednesday are: Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, the archbishop of New York; the Rev. Dr. Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference; Pastor Paula White of New Destiny Christian Center; the Rev. Franklin Graham of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; and Bishop Wayne Jackson of Great Faith Ministries International.
Named after Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal, the center listed Obama as complicit Tuesday among the “Top Ten Worst Global 2016 Anti-Semitic/Anti-Israel Incidents.” Adding insult to injury, the organization also created the Twitter hashtag #TopTenAntiSemitic2016.
The Wiesenthal Center stated in its report, “The most stunning 2016 U.N. attack on Israel was facilitated by President Obama when the U.S. abstained on a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israel for settlement construction. It reversed decades-long U.S. policy of vetoing such diplomatic moves against the Jewish State.”
