Pressley Harvin update - BOOMIN'!

I didnt realize kickers and punters need time to get acclimated to the NFL. hopefully he is beastmode this year

I'm pretty sure most don't but you have to remember BEN played on this team so it was his fault......................... (sarcasm)

how did I forget this so fast? this year it will be Masons. even if 3rd string. even if traded next week

Practice is one thing. He couldn't do it in games last year. Get him in these final 2 preseason games.

Agree TDX27, pre-season is shortened and give coaching even less time to evaluate BUT also gives way less time for the on field starting "units" to play side by side and get that "GEL" thingy going.

After this pre-season game, it's traditional to sit starters. I'm afraid this year is cause for change due to the shortened Pre-Season. My starting OL would play a minimu of 1/2 the game, DL the same. Extended play for all starters.

Shortening the pre-season hurt the bubble players the most but increased the fortune of the owners so there is that.!!!

EDIT: I'm preaching this towards the notorious slow starts of Tomlin led teams. NOT win / loss colums but players getting up to speed but using actual game time to do so. Example to point Dan Moore didn't even know he was a LT starter until season starters were announced. He played RT last pre-season game and actually thought that was were he was going to be playing.

But you would have to ask if he boomed them in pre-season last year. Not sure that he did.

Oh, so many players "need time to learn at this level" .....except long snappers. LOL

I think last year he was rushing punts due to the oline and him not being acclimated to the speed of the NFL game… thats why he was inconsistent AF… or at least that’s what I am hoping

If that's the case, I hope he's now acclimated to game speed, because I'm not sold that the line will be any better.

I'm pretty sure that Harvin dealing with his father's terminal illness (and eventual death) might have been his main issue last season. These guys aren't robots.

He is obviously a talented punter, and I wouldn't be surprised if he turns it around in 2022 in a big way.

It was. I think he is the only punter on the team right now.

With him being solidified in his roster position he will be able to work harder. I think he wants to show the football world he is for real and last year he was dealing with to much personal stuff. Add in a STs coach that isn't really that good and we had what we had last year.

I see Presley having a "BOOMing" season and also more reliable than last year's.
