tie game, final 26 seconds of OT facing 4th and 3 from midfield

and you ******* punt because "a tie is better than a loss"

**** that ****

Smith discussed his decision following the game, saying that he “felt that a tie was better than a loss.”

Can you imagine how bad we'd bash Tomlin for that? I know I would.

But it wasn't 4th and 3. More like 4th and 15.

I thought they might try a FG.

"What would have Tomlin done?"

Could you imagine this board? Yikes!
I was hoping for a tie so we’d only need 8 more wins to go 8-8-1.
Never a losing season.
Greatest coach ever.

No, it was 4th and 3.

No joke, when it went to overtime me and the folks, I was watching with started discussing the statistical improbability that Tomlin could surpass by finding a way to get a true .500 record not only two years in a row in the first two years of there being an odd number of regualr season games.

it was 4th and 3 from midfield....not close to FG range

There was a couple times in yesterday’s crazy *** game where I thought hoping for a Steelers tie was being wildly optimistic.

A tie sucks, but nonetheless, is indeed better than a loss.

My bad, I totally thought we were talking about OUR game. When the Bungles punted at midfield after the sack/fumble/Holy Roller rule play.

4th and 16, midfield, 1:04 left

And the dumb bungles punted with 15 seconds left on the game clock.....just enough to get Boz in range. Thanks Cinci!!

**** the kid from CLE is switching the idea of FG range…been seen making 70 yarders in practice…his 58 yarder yesterday to win was well up the net

Unfortunately, as we have learned, the Steelers' "on the spot" firing for bad coaching (Canada being the current example) is equal to about 3-5 years.

Daboll earned the respect of his team going for 2 and the win yesterday. The Texans suck and Smith would've got major respect going for the win and believing in his guys.

The NFL is a shell of it's former glory.

Coaching, rules, penalty calling, player passion, respect for the testosterone of the game, you name it. It's gutless.
The proper word is “pussification” I believe it was a Tasmanian Devil who came up with the terminology

This is a tough choice. Other team had a time out and would have had several plays to gain 10-15 yrds. You only had one shot to gain 3, and then would have needed a few more. If Tomlin would have done it yesterday I would have taken a tie the way the game was going. It certainly was not an aggressive call, but I can see where he is coming from

Coolie.

How you going to fire Santa? You getting coal this year

you can 't live in your fears

I understand the angst but I can also see the BOO's rain down on Lovie had they not made the 3 required yards for the first down and then the Colts only need 12 yards to win by a FG...

Strange call but I kinda get it...
