Priority free agent??

I'm sure they'll sign some punter and a street free agent or 2. That will be all. Bring back James Harrison while you're at it.

Graham played a 4-3 in college and was in a 4-3 before he transitioned to the 3-4. He likes to rush....and not be dropping off in coverage.

Impending free agent OLB Brandon Graham hinted he'd like to return to a 4-3 defense.

"A 4-3 end - pass rushing is what you do," Graham said. "I think a 4-3 end, it's better because you're always going that way. You're never backing up." It took Graham a bit to make the switch to 3-4 outside linebacker, but he's flourished there in 2014. Still, he feels more comfortable in a 4-3 scheme. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, some compare Graham to Vikings DE Everson Griffen, who inked a five-year, $42.5 million deal with Minnesota last offseason. Fri, Dec 19, 2014 09:22:00 AM

I'm not paying him that much anyhow. If he gets $40 million in free agency after playing 850 snaps in two seasons, good for that team.

what about Jabal Sheard?

I would have no problem with Sheard.

Here's the list of edge defenders by their PFF rating and snap counts:

Again, those that think we don't franchise tag Worilds might take a look at those ratings and understand many of the guys ahead of him are headed towards big pay days.

I think Tombert put the tag on Worilds and sign him to a 4-year deal just like Max Starks.

McPhee and resign Harrison for depth. I would also draft a guy in rds 1-3. I'm not f'n around.....I want a big pass rush. Also have Jarvis add 15 lbs.

McPhee and Jarvis start, Harrison rotates with Jarvis. Rookie is behind McPhee.

I think it was the same article as above, but I believe it said he wants 4 years and $30 million, with $20 million guaranteed.

You seem to have an unnaturally strong attachment to Ark

He won't let you leave FL - is that it?

I'd need about $40m over 4 years to move North, even as far as Jacksonville.

Sign our own young free agents. I don't see us signing any big names just like every year. We don't have enough cap space to work with.

should take a risk with Gred Hardy and flip to the 4-3
LE Heyward
NG Mcullers/Mclendon
3T Hardy
RE Tuitt
LOLB Shazier
MLB Timmons
ROLB Jones

rotating Vince Williams at MLB and Spence at both olb spots.
or if Troy is not cut he in the nickel is the blitzing lb

^^^ Now I'd love to see this. But sometimes I think the Steelers would rather keep a reputation and try to "keep everyone happy" rather than go out and get the better players which would make us a championship team. But that defense right there would solify it. Too bad it probably won't happen. They could never tell Lebeau to go.

worilds will let go ..stop giving money away to people underperforming

They absolutely lucked up on Dumerville...if Denver doesnt **** up, he'd still be a donkey.....but i THINK I read somewhere that Pittsburgh won the AFC North this year......

Wow! AFC North Champions. Whoa! Let's rush out and get those hats and t-shirts. Did us a whole helluva lot of good Saturday.

We played more line chumps instead of champs and we need to upgrade and improve our pass rush to be legit playoff threats. Fucco's jersey was a clear view of that inability by our D. Secondary is a glaring problem too.

Read somewhere the Steelers players are watching the Pats v Ravens game on theIr couches wearing "We run the North" shirts.

I think for it being his contract year he was unimpressive...

for me the "Steeler way" needs to be adjusted if it prevents going after a top 5 free agency player

I am not suggesting 5 or 6 players. but ONE impact player.......

then you bring in the Gores etc... to fill depth

and a pass rusher would be who I target.............

Agreed. ....

Reality is i dont think we will be able to afford a premier pass rushing OLB in free agency. I think we will make Moats a lower tier priority and the rest depends on Worlids. If he will sign a reasonable deal they will bring him back. If not, i dont see us using either tag on him again. In that case our best option would be to bring back deebo . . .either way we will be drafting another OLB high. On offense the top priority will be to bring in a dependable back up for Bell.

yeah that they can't afford **** thing............. But ******* Denver and New England and Baltimore can.............

time to make changes then so that they can afford it

Very nice option...

My seed has been planted...

YOu guys cant tell me you wouldnt jizz your drawers at the notion of Suh being in a Steelers uniform and rough-housing and abusing Flacco, Manziel and Dalton twice a year.....

The problem is no team can afford two players making 100 million per year. The Texans are doomed to mediocrity due to Watt's contract, they won't be able to pay a top notch quarterback. Their only hope is to get lucky in the draft and find a Wilson or Kaepernick in round 2 or 3.

Papillon

Worlids was not used properly why was he in coverage so much this year and lining up at mlb and coming on a loop blitz, he is a edge rusher.

This. Again it's Lebeau. Lebeau turning our LBs into mid field safeties. The only LB he had straight rushing was Harrison, everyone else was dropping into coverage, looping, stunting etc. Worlids might actually be a decent LB if used correctly.

He had to drop. They didnt want harrison dropping.

Another interesting name.

Might get lost in the shuffle. Seattle cant keep everyone.

I would loooove to see this as our top priority!

This would be nice and yes I would....but I can't see it happening. We can afford a Corvette or two, but not a Ferrari.

Quite frankly we have a glut at Middle Linebacker.

I would look at taking Shazier and either moving him to LOLB or to take Troy's spot at Safety. ***I know this sounds ridiculous because of his size, but he has the speed to be a top notch safety....

That would leave Vince Williams, Sean Spence and Lawerence Timmons plus whomever we pick up in the 6th round at the two MLB spots.

If we draft a corner and pick up Maxwell, and start the training in the spring for Shazier to move to safety, we have instantly upgraded this defense.

Call me crazy if you want, but sometimes you have to think outside the box!
