Was thinking more like lowly Moderatersso sorta like the SN writers?

That's because JJ Watt is part of this generation, and in his prime was every bit as unstoppable as Donald. I think his injuries have blurred people's memory of just how dominant he was. He has 3 DPOY himself. This thread is trending toward Donald isn't the most dominant defensive player of the current era. It's really hard to deny that by any measure. He has the stats, advanced states, and passes they eye test.
those guys are fucktarded ********Was thinking more like lowly Moderaters
Aaron Donald is the most dominant defensive player of this generation.
those guys are fucktarded ********
I heard your question on the podcast you had me rolling.Which writer? That @Cope guy seems to be trying too hard
Not quite… wasn’t to long ago Kahlil Mack was putting up virtually comparable numbers to Donald. JJ Watt too.Aaron Donald is the most dominant defensive player of this generation.
Donald is putting up those numbers from the IDL position as opposed the the edge where Watt plays. I think you supported Donald's spot as the top defender with these numbers. Not quite… wasn’t to long ago Kahlil Mack was putting up virtually comparable numbers to Donald. JJ Watt too.
In the 5 years TJ has been in the league, head to head with Donald, he leads in virtually every defensive category.
Sacks: Watt 72-70
INT’s: Watt 4-0,
FF: Watt 22-19 (Donald has 23 career with 3 more seasons under his belt)
FR: Watt 7-6
Total Tackles: Watt 283-277
TFL: Donald 93-80
QB Hits: Watt 150-145
So the only category Donald leads is TFL by 13 over 5 years. I’ll take Watt’s additional INT’s/FR/FF over the TFL. Every other major defensive statistical category Watt leads Donald in last 5 years. Generational seems to imply no others of that generation compare. And Donald turned it up in last 5 years over his first 3. If TJ Watt hasn’t peaked yet (and stays healthy) he will blow past Donald in every career category.
And if we are talking, arguably the greatest defender ever, Joe Greene anchored a defense that won 4 SB’s in 6 years. Donald hasn’t anchored a team to 6 consecutive playoff appearances, let alone 4 SB titles.
Woodson and Watt?Well at least he is a GENERATIONAL player with a ring whereas we've had two generational players who don't have a ring.............................................. with us
Salute the nation

They are slobbering all over him for making the tackle on 3rd and 1 as if it was all him.Aaron Donald is the most dominant defensive player of this generation.
Watt is putting up those numbers in a defensive scheme that requires him to drop back into coverage often.Donald is putting up those numbers from the IDL position as opposed the the edge where Watt plays. I think you supported Donald's spot as the top defender with these numbers.
Watt dropping back in coverage hasn’t exactly been happening “often” — especially in last 2 years. They’ve more closely ran a 4 man pass rush/front with the EDGE rusher doing so out of a standing position vs. in stance.Watt is putting up those numbers in a defensive scheme that requires him to drop back into coverage often.
Lol, no it doesn’t. Watt and Dupree both started to really produce when the coaching staff stopped making him drop into coverage. It’s also why he got paid more like a traditional 4-3 DE rather than a 3-4 OLB.Watt is putting up those numbers in a defensive scheme that requires him to drop back into coverage often.
Donald was getting this hype way before the Super Bowl. They are slobbering all over him for making the tackle on 3rd and 1 as if it was all him.
Just ignore two guys were in on in it. But doesn’t fit the narrative.
Donald is great player but I’ve never seen anything that suggests he’s the best defensive player on the planet as so much hyperbole as been about.
Dudes been great, going to HOF, but he’s getting way too much hype for a Super Bowl that he was held in check by a terrible OL for nearly 3 qtrs.
