You are obviously not at a place where most fans on this board are (i.e. investing time to watch the entire games), although a place where many of us are heading (considering the ineffective place the team is to having a chance at winning in the postseason). To a man, most fans have stated that they will not support the current path the team is obviously on. Many fans are not currently planning to continue to give up their time, their emotional support or, most worrisome of all, their $ (towards games tickets, parking, hotdogs, beer, t-shirts, cable costs to games not available on TV). You are at the leading edge to where many of us are heading, consider yourself an "early adapter," if you will).Spectator sports is not as exciting as it once was.
I personally feel like I have too much going on to put aside 3 hours to watch people doing their job.
I keep the games to a minimum now so it keeps me excited as a fan. Otherwise like anything in life over saturation ruins the spirit
I have myself, already allowed my wardrobe to not see a single Steelers' new t-shirt, hoodie or jacket of a new nature in 4 years. Of course, I still have a lot of old Steelers garb, but each year the volume lessons. And the team can see cable sales of Steeler games will be dropping off. The precedent has been set: If the team is not interested in doing what it has to to ensure future success in the postseason, the fans will react in kind. The endless endorsement of Fraudlin is a clear sign that the team no longer cares about future success in the postseason. And since that is Rooney's position, fans will follow his lead and eventually stop following with their $s. With Rooneys words and actions, he has spoken volumes about the team's future; they just don't care, only far enough to secure a non-losing record. That's as far as the team goes. That's it. Are you willing to spend $50 on parking and $200 on hotdogs for that? $500 on beer? $600 on tickets? This guy isn't, not for a buffoon club of helpless Fraudlin.
