Quiet on the Heyward front

I think he might be a gamer. Waits till FA and draft is over then ******* about salary. Think he likes Pittsburgh but always wants more Benjamins. I don't think he will remain quiet and play out his last year. Doubt that highly.

He has been pretty ****-ing loud so far.

That Ben thing was something he should have stayed away from and that makes me agree with you fully.

The coward will piss and moan, cause internal grief.

Maybe McCarthy shuts him up by example, we might see a DL high pick or FA brought in.

But hasn't said boo on a contract we all know he's gonna ***** about. My guess is after FA period and draft he starts to ***** and if he does Id broom him.

Last year he waited till after he got his roster bonus. As nearly all his 2026 salary is roster bonus, he may do the same this year once he has been paid the roster bonus, or maybe just maybe, he will accept the $14m for 2026, and not hold out.

Pretty much what I said, and you’re right about the broom him part.

His contract is very trade-able and I’d think a 5th at minimum (with his great stats and minimum 4yrs playing time left says he).

He has grown to big for his britches, literally.

If we're still talking about Heyward, his contract isn't very tradeable. He is due $13m roster bonus on day 2 of the league year, meaning if he is traded after day 2 Steelers eat $13m. And any team that trades for him on day 1 then has to pay him $13m the day after the trade. I suppose a team that wants to trade for him could renegotiate the roster bonus prior to completing a trade but I'd wait for the Steelers to cut him (you'd expect if the Steelers are entertaining trade offers for Heyward, they'll cut him before the roster bonus is due if a trade hasn't been completed).

A top 5 contender wouod oay more then a 5th in my opinion. I won't go crazy but a 3rd I think for a second team All-Pro if you are throwing chips in is not out of line. Might have to be a 2027.
