When it rains it pours...

"A 50 percent chance of precipitation is forecast, according to the National Weather Service's Pittsburgh forecast office.

Temperatures will not likely be cold enough to support an all-snow event, suggesting a messy mix of precipitation. Overnight lows Saturday into Sunday are forecast around freezing"

which means we utilize our bigger backs and pound the rock.
sign Tate. roll out Adams as an extra tackle.

You know we'd love to play two TE's and run the ball - but now that would be playing right into the Ravens hands. 3rd and long an blitz Ben all night long.

I say come out throwing on 1st down and don't stop. A slippery turf would give AB the advantage.

Ben's big hands will rule the night - pump them Ben, pump them hard

Make sure its a hand with a football in it!!!!!!!!!!

Lat it rain / sleet / snow, we are going to ply hard regardless!!!!!

Salute the nation

predicting the weather 4 days out in the 'Burgh and being accurate is well 50/50?

Trying to forecast weather 4 days out in Western PA is about as reliable as a slot machine.

With the realization that Saturday's game is going to have to be won through the air, I took it upon myself to visit weather.com to check out the weekend forecast in the Burgh and of course there is a 90% chance of rain and or freezing rain. I really don't want to be a sky is falling person but if that happens the task will even become more difficult for our team. Hopefully the forecast changes but you talk about adding insult to injury? Have mercy!

I believe .

If I did buy into he weather bs I'd say it's going to be impossible to cover Receivers and their cuts. Let it pour

The last storm on weather.com I tracked more than 24 hours in advance kept telling me I was getting 12+ inches of snow.....I got 3. I'll wait and check the weather Saturday morning.

Let's wait and see on the weather. I think Ben can handle rain regardless. Low of 39 degrees.

The weather favors the team with the bigger guys that can run the ball more often than not. I am not ready to count our guys out. There is good reason to believe there will be lots of bad throws and fumbles for this game. This could become a slop fest, might be a good game to rest Bell anyway.

so there's a chance for 3 feet of snow

In a motorcycle magazine I used to read frequently they did a study on the accuracy of predictions vs reality and found the forecasts less accurate than flipping a coin. I think the forecasts were like the 40 percent range. Really sad when you think about it.

The Patsies proved years ago that in driving rain or heavy snow, it is easier to pass than run.

The receivers know their routes - the defensive backs don't.

For running plays, the offensive lineman need to get traction, and the running back needs even more to make a cut or cutback.

The only limitation on passing is if the ball is so wet and slick that the QB cannot get a good grasp on the ball. But Ben has a very good history of throwing in the rain. His 5 TD effort against the Ravens in 2007 was in a heavy rain.

That was seven years ago. I know history repeats itself but that is asking a bit much. The offense knows where it is going granted but cuts and fakes are harder as well. It will only take a couple of falls before an interception happens. Weather that is bad can be bad for one team and not as bad for the other. Also with gusty winds and such there are times when the weather changes during the game and it always seems to bite us at the wrong time.

I am wanting a game that is not negatively impacted by the weather.
