Rain/snow mix forecast in Pittsburgh for Ravens/Steelers playoff matchup

I am not real worried about the weather cause the way I see it yeah we can toss it long but we have the talent to throw it short and let our guys do the rest. I can see AB setting a playoff record with receptions if the weather is bad. I also think the bad weather favors us cause it will take away the deep threat from the Smith boys.

Rain /snow dont think either is that big of a deal for a passing O ...wind yes ..if there were going to be sustained winds 20-30 MPH with higher gusts then a passing O is gonna struggle .

Um Big Ben threw the winning TD pass to Hines Ward in a Miami Hurricane. I think we will be fine. If the field is a slop fest i doubt i they risk our super star running back on the field in any case of him feeling better. what do the rats have? nothing. we win this game at the line on both sides. If they hold the line we win.

OMG, I hope no one gets wet. That might make them uncomfortable and whiny.

One big advantage: Rats Oline is decimated....Flacco won't have time to throw.

Our OL should give Ben enough time to shred their secondary

I hope all you guys are right. I am just concerned about cold wet balls. They are hard to catch. They are hard to hold onto. They are easy to drop. They are hard to kick and punt. Any of you guys that like cold wet balls let me know.

I agree with what you are saying about it being harder to hold on to and catch. But that affects each team equally.

The big reason I am concerned about it is Wheaton and Bryant have not had the experience that AB has yet and they may be missing balls or dropping them. Ab fumbled twice in one game and had a close one in the cinci game, I am just concerned that the guys that are rock solid in dry weather might have problems in wet weather. I am also concerned about guys getting hurt due to poor footing on our field. On a positive note I think our field is better than many in regard to not causing injuries.

I guess I better wrap up and wear a raincoat for the big moment. I hope there is so much excitment there that everyone around me gets all wet and I erupt in complete physical and emotional satisfaction when it's over!

Get your heads out of the gutter! *wink*

Are you and wingman sitting together?

Just smacking on yaz all. Chill

Seriously, the weather is equal for both sides on the field. I take us in good or BAD weather. We have two guys, big enough to carry the rock, in any kind of weather. Some here give an all new sense to the catch phrase "the sky is falling, the sky is falloing" . Fluck it, cleat up, let roll !!!!

Bad weather or not, I'm thinking we'll need 30 points to win this one. What do ya'll think?

How many points do we need for the W?

Jeezuz there seem to be a lot of cold, wet, TINY balls here. I've never seen so many doom and gloom posts, ****, if it's like this on Rats week, what's it going to be like if we make it to PATS week?

Joe

The Patsies proved years ago that in driving rain or heavy snow, it is easier to pass than run.

The receivers know their routes - the defensive backs don't.

For running plays, the offensive lineman need to get traction, and the running back needs even more to make a cut or cutback.

The only limitation on passing is if the ball is so wet and slick that the QB cannot get a good grasp on the ball. But Ben has a very good history of throwing in the rain. His 5 TD effort against the Ravens in 2007 was in a heavy rain.

Good Point.

With the realization that Saturday's game is going to have to be won through the air, I took it upon myself to visit weather.com to check out the weekend forecast in the Burgh and of course there is a 90% chance of rain and or freezing rain. I really don't want to be a sky is falling person but if that happens the task will even become more difficult for our team. Hopefully the forecast changes but you talk about adding insult to injury? Have mercy!
If this thread is going to be a "oh no the weather we can't this and we can't that" then delete the thread please.
Last time I checked Pittsburgh football weather especially in January can be a ***** but the FaKing Steelers have been at this for some time.
Bring it.

******* idiot weather slut. I've got your three inches right here.

Wait, that didn't come out right

LOL.

Whenever someone says the weather girl is calling for 6-9 inches, I like to say my wife calls for that every night.

Do I or don't I? Hmmm... ******* a right I do!

I stick Big Dan McCullers in the middle, let McLendon and Heyward man the ends and have Tuitt spell them if needed. That gives us a lot of beef at the LOS to have the rats try to move.

Then on offense Ben has a strong enough arm to throw in this crap so I am not overly concerned. What we need is Harris/Tate/Archer to have a few nice runs early to loosen up that secondary so Ben can pick them apart. The good news about slick weather is it should slow the pass rush. It's harder for the DE's to twist and stunt with bad footing and as long as the Oline can get position they should be able to hold their ground.

Justin Forsett embracing potential bad weather

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- There's a 100 percent chance of rain in Pittsburgh for Saturday night's playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens and Steelers. The wind could reach 20 miles per hour.

Ravens running back Justin Forsett smiled when told of the potential bad weather.

"As a running back, you love it," said Forsett, who certainly knows about playing in the rain from his four seasons in Seattle. "Usually it means you're running the ball but you never know. But I'm excited for it."

Forsett is not only the Ravens' Most Valuable Player this season, but he's been their X factor. When he rushes for over 70 yards, the Ravens are 6-1.
