Not many people could have or even would have predicted the type of offense we've shown the last two weeks. Some even said that the talent just wasn't there. I, for one, have never seen a Steelers offense look as explosive as it has the past two weeks. With that said, lets get on to the record setting players.

Martavis Bryant, becomes on the second player in NFL history to catch 5 TD's in his first three games, tying a record held by another Steeler, Eric Green.

Not only does Antonio Brown carry his 5 catch, at least 50 yards streak up to 26 games, he also has an insane 11 game streak of at least 80 yards receiving.

Big Ben, what needs to be said. 500 yards twice, 6 TD's twice in a row, 0 INT's in those two games. He set a record for completion % in a 500 yard game. Most TD's in a two week span. Etc.

Unfortunately Bell could not continue his streak of 100 yards of scrimmage in each game of the season, but his play was still very valuable. His receiving ability is what got the offense jump started.

I really like what I'm seeing from everyone on the offensive side of the ball, I hope we continue the success and continue setting records!

I'm quite a bit shocked and even more impressed.
That said, I'm not going to start jumping up and down just yet, especially with 2 "sure wins" coming up.

Antonio Brown reclaimed the NFL lead in receiving yards with 996 and is running away with the receptions (74) lead. He's on pace for 132 catches, 1,771 yards and 14 touchdowns. With Bryant, Markus Wheaton and Le'Veon Bell in the mix, defenses can't devote their resources to stopping any one option.

No, but they can pressure Roethlisberger. Offense did a great job adjusting and giving him time and the results showed.

One of the best things to kill pressure is the quick drop back set and throw that he has finally started doing for a good portion of the game. yeah the occasional buy time play works but they also give the defense incentive to come after him. If Ben could stay on Haileys quick set and throw plan they will likely be unstoppable.

The 1995 Steelers were an offensive juggernaught in the day. Neil O'Donnel, Yancy thigpen, Ernie mills, Andre Hastings, Charles Johnson, and the first offensive weapon...aka....slash. Bam Morris was a great back...Mark Bruener at TE...just a blast to watch. And the defense....wow!

I'm glad we finally turned over enough stones to have our o line show some. It's starting to look like the greatest show on turf!

So will we play as aggressive now going into Jets land? A game we should win, always a worry for us.

They were a good, efficient, consistent offense... but they couldn't just score a LOAD of points at the drop of a hat. Any number of our guys could make a huge play and take it to the house on any given play. Sunday night was a great example of that. Brown in the open field, Bell in the same situation (if Mosley hadn't got that back ankle, Bell was gone... Brown had his man sealed to the inside and the sideline was WIDE open), Bryant can go up and over, or blow right by, even Wheaton starting to show his wheels.

EXPLOSIVE players...

I'm sure you wore yourself out jumping up and down in disgust of your team getting their @ss' whipped. Troll boy !!!

Not taking anything away from Ben R., but he has a single 500+ yrd game and a 340 yaed game in the last two weeks. Yes he has 2-500+ yrd games in his career, but just wanted to clear up the TWO week dilemma. AWESOMENESS S_T_E_E_L_E_R_S "who ride"

I barely remember the 1978 team because I was 7, but I'm curious how this compares to the explosion of offense they had that year. It was the season that NFL implemented the Mel Blount rule in an effort to tame the Steelers D, but in effect caused the Steeler passing game to blossom. Any old timers got a take on this?

The Blount rule was implemented but throwing the ball in 1978 was still a ton more difficult than today. The great thing about the 78 offense is what they did when they wanted to bury a team. They averaged 34 points during the playoffs and SB. They beat the Broncos 33 to 10, Oilers 34-5 and Dallas 35-31. They only scored a little over 22 PPG that year in the regular season. The 1979 team was the offensive team. They scored 26 PPG. To put that into perspective Ben has never had a year scoring anywhere near that until this year where they are around 27.6 PPG.

Wow, thanks Vader. And by no means would I expect the stats to be similar from these different eras. It was more a question of did 78 or I guess 79 ( since you pointed it out) kind of generate that same feeling of "holy crap, can you believe how unstoppable our offense looks now" that we are currently experiencing?

No reason to clear anything up, Ben is the only QB with two 500 yard games, that's why it says twice in my post, and the 6 TD's says twice in a row.

I've been saying they could do this and need to do this on O since before the OTA's. The O absolutely has the talent. They just needed to execute and gel as a team. Now, the D seems to be coming on. If the D keeps improving and the O plays like they are, the Steelers will be very scary heading into the playoffs.

No offense by any means. I just had to clarify for those like me in dilemma. I get like that, on occasion and need it clarified, otherwise I stay in that state, for a long time. I just wanted back and in a NORMAL world. I sure missed the boat there as this world too, is NOT normal :)

They still killed the qb and wr's back in the 70's as well. I MEAN KILLED them! So averaging the points they did in 1979 is a major testimonial to how good that team was. Swann got killed going over the middle. I honestly don't know how he survived. Tough SOB.

Why do you pretend to be a Steeler fan? Just admit that you hate us & want us to lose, and move on.

Extremely happy to see how the offense has gone into higher power mode! Hope we don't let the next two games get away from us after beating some teams we were predicted to lose against. Great to see us up in the NFL power rankings (12). Still a long season, but excited here. Go Steelers!;)
