Week 8 steelers Vs Giants pregame thread

bullshit

Tomlin doesn't know how to do that

or does he????

Meh, must be the new towel boy giving him advice or something... i haven't heard the formal excuse.. i mean "explanation" for it yet....

Sometimes an old dog learns a new trick or two... credit where credit is due.....

The list showcasing Mediocre Mike's failures to lessor teams is too long to list at this point, but let's just say it's really long (2023 includes losses to two 2-10 teams, consecutively and to the 2024 Cowboys and Colts for instance). But let's just hope the primetime status of the upcoming MNF game will ward off the Tomlin's tendency for team disaster against worser teams. Even Mediocre Mike's colossal list of failures doesn't compare to his winning in primetime schedule.
Steelers being 5-2 pisses you off

you are truly a ******* twatwaffle

This should be a good game. The giants have a decent defense and certainly can get to the quarterback. The OL pass blocking is my biggest concern.

I'm glad for the bye week coming up. They can get some guys healed up for the real test coming up in the second half of that schedule.

The division games are always a battle, plus having Washington,Philadelphia and Kansas City.

We will get to see how far along they are after all of those games.

I think the Giants aren’t a great run defense team despite having two players that are good at it. (NT,Burns) So run heavy, play action passing would be a good game plan for the Steelers IMO in this matchup.

On defense with their Oline banged up send the farm often. They should cheat a S over the top of Nabers as he is their greatest addition on offense.

Well, history has always been my subject and to me, this is the type of game where the Steelers typically **** the bed.

What we have in our favor is that it is a Monday night game. Maybe the one day delay and the prime time lights will provide additional incentive to go out and execute. Unfortunately that was not the case against the Cowboys, but that 1.5 hour delay did not help matters. We waited to late too wake the **** up.

We need to be 6-2 going into the bye, IMO this is a must win game. If we can manage a 5-4 record in the back half we would be 11-6 and own tie breakers against the Chargers and the Broncos and neither of those teams are going to win their division. We lose the tie breaker to the Dolts.

Interesting tidbits.

We will have not played a 1pm game in 6 weeks by the time we play Wash. in 2 weeks.

Aside from division games, in common games with the Steelers, the Rats stand @ 1-1 We both still must play PHI & NYG, another reason this game and the next one (WASH) are must win games for us. We must keep the pressure on them. The Rats beat Wash. They play Den. next week and still have to play the chargers. Those were W's for us. KC was an L for them.

Thus my point, for me, a retired schmoe to go through all of those scenarios, which will most likely be debunked by someone on this board in a matter of minutes, tells me that the very fact that we are looking at playoff scenarios in week 8 that we could be overlooking a perceived weak opponent and get our ***** handed to us on MNF.

You all have been warned.

Sitting at Pamela’s diner getting breakfast… I feel a 26 to 12 win tonight!

Haven’t been back for a game since 2005

Time to win
Did yinz get eggs or pancakes?

i went with the bacon and cheese omelette, and the prettier side of the group got strawberry crepes.

Had to get some corned beef hash on the side also.

I respect the weekly prediction thread too much to even put my analysis (guesses) there; but I do hear what @Super Dave is warning us about, but...

I think our collective braintrust, in the coaching staff, have something to prove.

1. Coach Tomlin - everyone knows he has his challenges and, this year, it looks like all the 'cancer' has been removed from the body - Berm thinks his arrow is pointing up.
2. Coach Smith - Say what you will, but this year's offense is waaay better than the past two years. Hell, he schemed a WR "WIDE OPEN" last game. Defenses may know Russ, but they better back the **** up, because he ain't afraid to take moonshots...
3. Coach Austin - Man, you have a lot of superstars on defense and, right now, his defense is second only to the Chargers with PA (Chargers have 91/Steelers have 101).

Here's to a 90's Mike Tyson night/fight tonight!!! A second quarter KO would make me happy...

Too buku?

Every time the rival has a banged up OLine our pass rush makes a houdini. They better go full throttle

As long as they don't show up, disinterested to give full effort for the game. That is the trademark of Mediocre's heavily favored teams, it's their damn trademark.

I am pretty sure Mediocre Mike has never lost a Monday night home game. not 100% certain cause I am not mesmerized by the man as you seem to be.
but if so, that is a pretty good trademark

I hate this game for the Steelers. They are clearly the better team, at home on Monday night where they are really freaking good. The Giants are a complete mess, and this should be as much of a walkover as the Steelers can muster. That said….

This is the type of game where we sometimes get a stinker, by that I mean where the Steelers are clearly better, heavily favored and absolutely should win. I feel like this could end up being a nail biter.

For some reason I am 100% confident tonight. zero worries
