Regular Season results: 2014 AFC North Champions

I don't know who saw this coming after the first 8 games.

Typically I pick 10-6 every year but this year I have a good feeling.

12-4
So I was in the right neighborhood.

I think vader picked something similar based on the schedule and I think one of the guys picked it from day one. I sure did not but I am glad they have put somethings together for this year.

I think some folks picked 11-5 at the beginning of the season. But after losses to TB, NYJ, etc. those same people were telling us that 8-8 would be a "miracle".

I was not optimistic enough to pick more than 8-8 or 7-9 in the beginning and after some of the losses thought it was going to be an uphill battle to get to 8 and 8. Glad to be wrong and glad the team is playing better than most of us thought possible.

I picked 11-5 and stuck to it. The arrow is pointing up!!

Sure felt good getting up this morning as division champs and we move on. Congrats to all us BLEEDERS we had a rough road at the beginning of season.

I'll admit that after some head scratching losses, I had no idea where this team would end up. I was just determined to enjoy the ups and downs of what I thought would be a roller coaster of a season. Glad the upward trajectory came along when it did.

If you would have told me that the Steelers would get very little production from Jarvis Jones, Ryan Shazier, Dri Archer, Mike Mitchell, Ike Taylor, Troy Polamalu, Lance Moore, Cam Thomas and Cortez Allen, I never would have thought they'd finish anywhere near 11-5.

Congrats steelers. I thought the Bengals were going to pull that one out.....until number 41 pulled the ball out from AJ Green. Antonio Brown is amazing......and amazingly frustrating to Bengal fans.

Thanks Beaker. I thought the same thing. Kudos for being a good sport. It would be great to see a Bengals-Steelers rematch in the playoffs.

I kept reminding folks during the early part of the season that this team would improve...........i kept reminding this forum that this team was still relatively young at many positions...we, in essence were in rebuilding mode. We will still experience some growing pains on defense because we cant expect Harrison to return or Keisel...and that leadership and experience is hard to replace, no matter how much talent you plug in. But i am confident in the new blossoming leadership on the defense with Heyward/Timmons.

Its hard to say this but its about time we draw curtains on a few stalwarts in Ike, Troy and Keisel ....you dont wanna make the mistake of holding on to players past their prime....those players appear to be past their prime. Troy is living on past reputation alone now. The fact hes ON the field just forces the OC to adjust but that notion is quickly being tested in the passing game where hes been exposed.

Ike can no longer cover.........is a liability.......Keisel is Noah reincarnated..........

But the bright side is things are coming together defensively........we got the 4 huge stops and two turnovers i predicted we needed to win. The young crew stepped up defensively.

Back on the ****** top where we rightfully belong...........and Hairball, Where Dey ??!!! and Bereaveland can suck it !!!! 2014 AFC North Division Champions

I had predicted 7-9 and at best 8-8 during the summer. I just didn't like the make-up of this team and thought the OL would be a disaster once again, and I thought losing Sanders would hurt. There were just too many uncertainties for my liking. I wasn't sure on Lev. Bell, Wheaton, Beachum, Gilbert but they all came through in a big way especially Bell. Ben had a great season and to me is a strong candidate for league MVP but I'm sure won't even come close. The defense even with a patchwork defensive backfield seemed to really come together and as a whole has really improved. They still need upgrades at CB and at one safety spot. They started getting a nice pass rush and I like what I saw out of Steven Tuitt and Big Dan when they had opportunities. Even Captain Cool Shades who I will continue to refer to him, may have done his best coaching job. Munchak did a masterful job with this OL, Haley, what can we say, #2 offense in the OL. Then there is coach Too Old who with what he had to work with actually did a hell of a job.

Great job Steelers on reclaiming what is rightfully yours. AFC North Champions. Even if we don't make a deep run how can you say they didn't have a nice season? Who would have thunk it?

It sure would. That would mean the steelers win to a home game for the afcc game and get to play 2 teams from the same division in the playoffs. Go cinci! It would also be sweet to watch the meltdown in Foxhole and on espn.
