Report: Roethlisberger tells teammates he wants to play at least 3 more years

It would be great if he can play 3 more years at this years level (or better) and with Haley gone.

Hah!!! I always thought Ben would play out his current contract and then a few more years on top of it. The reason for my thinking? Well with AB locked up. Bell might get locked up. Our OL is locked up for a while. We have some other WR's that will be here. He woud be foolish to walk away. Plus he must already know Haley won't be back next season. To be honest Ben could play until he is 50. Make it happen Ben!!!!

That’s great news. I agree with still! All the pieces are there and he never had so many weapons. AB, sign Bell, a quickly developing JuJu, and McDonald are pretty enticing. Great stuff for a day after hangover.

Haley could be gone too.

Todd Haley - C - Steelers

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette suggests there's a real possibility the Steelers move on from OC Todd Haley.

Haley does not have a contract for 2018, and his relationship with Ben Roethlisberger became increasingly fractured in 2017. One Steelers source told the Post-Gazette that one of the reasons Big Ben openly contemplated retirement was his failing rapport with Haley. The two "rarely talked along the sidelines," and "never huddled to discuss strategy" during games. Roethlisberger reportedly requested QBs coach Randy Fichtner to come down from the booth to create a game-day "buffer" between the quarterback and Pittsburgh's OC. Fichtner is reportedly a "strong candidate" to replace Haley if he isn't re-signed.

Lol then my apologies. With the crazy **** that some people say around here, my first instinct was that it was 100% sincere

Dude you need to get over it. He's not going anywhere and you're just making yourself crazy.

It amazes me the number of fans that would rather Tomlin stay than win another SB. 9 years and counting with the most talented team in the NFL and Coach Cliche has **** to show for it.

50? Really? Anyways...I don't see why Ben can't play the 3 more years he still wants to play and then even a few after that. The last few years have been his best. And we have almost everyone locked up for multiple years.

Yep, I swear there are fans that put Tomlin over the team. I don't get it.

But, but look at all the regular season wins!

Yes, because that is apparently the measure of success, regardless of what your potential is or how much talent you have, just finish above .500 and you are GOLDEN!

This has not been a secret to anybody, other than the idiot national media.I also think this decision was made this past offseason when they didn't give him a contract extension.

Yep...Ben talks about retirement last year right after we got bounced out of the playoffs. Then after our season is over this year he is telling teammates he wants to play for at LEAST 3 more years. i would bet some money the reason is Haley.

Three years TOPS, no more after that. I gave you the benefit of the doubt when you said you were being sarcastic, don't go and get stupid on me now
