I don't think he wants to play anymore, anyway, as he seemed to have that demoralized "it's time" look on his face at the end of the game.

Agreed, my point is we're drafting what 23rd or something, we are getting a QB unless we trade up. Rodgers is smart enough and just good enough to keep us in that 20-25 drafting slot, so we're outside the top QBs

The one thing that every player said after the game is the team was never closer. He held people accountable including himself. What more do you want then that. Hated the guy before this year. Could not ask for more then he gave this year. At all.

But to be fair in the circumstances it was Rodgers, Rudolph or Howard. There was not much out in FA and their constant mediocrity gets them no where near the dudes in the draft.

They're probably going to be stuck in that draft range regardless of who's the QB, as Tomlin has become the ultimate high floor/low ceiling coach.

They avoided losing seasons in 2022 and 2023 with Pickett, Trubisky and Rudolph at QB.

It's become football purgatory.

It's Ben's fault, it's mitchs fault, it's Picketts fault, it's fields fault, it's Wilson's fault it's Rodgers fault, etc etc... If the Texans had Rodgers today and we had Stroud we might have lost by 50

Should be 21st - third worst regular season record of the playoff losers. I don't believe trading up will be anymore likely to get a quarterback than picking 21 will, because the three teams most likely to take quarterbacks have the top 3 draft picks so can't trade above them. There's not really any team between pick 3 and the Steelers pick who is likely to go quarterback (maybe the Rams look to get their Stafford replacement at 13 or the Jets go QB at 16 instead of 2).
 
Rodgers actually held his teammates to some sort of standard—something that’s been lacking with this team. I think we saw some growth as a result.

Moving forward if the Steelers use Rodgers as a bridge WB and actually commit to a young QB2 it could make sense. It sure he would come back, especially if there’s a new HC.

It's one thing to hold them accountable, its another to constantly do it in front of everyone. That's was the lowest post season yardage out put since 1945, yardage wise we ranked 26th this year with Rodgers, a 130 million dollar WR, a 14 million dollars TE and how drafting picks used on our online? Matt Canada's offense with Pickett ranked 23rd yards, there wasn't much growth.

Exactly!! This is the national narrative now, too -- Tomlin kept Rodgers under control as long as he could.

Marino, Brady, Manning were all demanding of their players, they would not tolerate the sloppiness of the Steelers organization.
 
I got no issues with Rodgers being competitive. I do have issue with the coach going to the scrap heap for WRs instead of playing a kid they drafted and sat.

If Ben did or said the stuff Rodgers did, he would have been under fire from everyone. Hell, Ben got blasted for doing a 10min segment on radio every Friday lol.. meanwhile, Cam does an hours of podcasting per week while airing out the team and everything in between. It’s just comical the hatred for Ben over the years. Give me Ben every single time over Rodgers, every time. I also think Ben was a 10x better field leader. He had great body language and belief. Rodgers sits around and pouts when **** doesn’t go his.

6 snaps for Spenser Anderson is ridiculous

The lack of usage when missing Washington is beyond puzzling considering the protection issues

He definitely should have been getting snaps in Washington’s role or as a 6th OL. Having him in as a blocking TE with Muth in the middle would have been a better option. Smith should never be in over Thielen in a possession quick hitting attack.

There were so many problems with preparation, scheme, game plan, situational play calling and execution it’s hard to look anywhere past the coaching.

That was another in a long line of expected embarrassing moments

You know who else would do that? Mark Malone the QB who succeeded Terry Bradshaw.
He would do that crap to all his receivers. Horrible QB that Chuck missed on.
