Rodgers Signing with Black n’ Gold

I will concede fans chanting may have gotten Canada canned. However, it seems there is more evidence to support that it didn't, or Tomlin would have been fired years ago. Maybe it had an indirect impact...in that it caused Tomlin to get his head out of his asss and see what was going on there. For all the "Tomlin controls the offense" narrative, guys like DK insist he is actually hands off too much. Something was mentioned around that time of Canada pretty much secluding himself in his office. Which is just as bad.

As it pertains to Pickens...to lay out that assertion...how specifically would you have handled it? Anybody can make generalizations.
The outcry to fire Tomlin never reached the level of Canada, the heat from the media and fans online is there, but the home crowd hasn’t chanted fire Tomlin-yet. I think the fan base is at an all time high in being fed up with Tomlin and if things go badly early this season “fire Tomlin” could be cascading down on him in Acrisure.

If there wasn’t someone in the draft then address WR twice in the early part of free agency-Metkalf and then someone else, when there were players available. Now we are sitting on a big chunk of cap space for the 2nd year in a row with free agency mostly over.

DK has criticized Tomlin for allowing Canada too much control but also for being stubborn in his approach to schemes. DK raved about all the awesome stuff the offense was doing in Latrobe last summer then the season started and the offense looked very similar to what they were doing under Canada. Who would the constant influence be in the offense to cause that? Tomlin boasted it was he who took out Fields for Wilson. He absolutely exerts his control over the offense and absolutely is responsible for it.

Serious question for you: you say you want Tomlin gone but you also feel compelled to defend him here when you think he’s being unfairly criticized. Why would you defend someone who you say you think needs to go?

I left mine out in the weather this past winter, and now I'm deciding on just replacing the whole thing, or spending a week or so to refinish the top. It looks like one of those "we rescued this grill from the center of Chernobyl and are gonna refinish it back to new" type videos. The "good" news is that it isn't a REAL blackstone, just an off brand griddle top.
I kid not the easiest way to clean your griddle is by using a block of ice and a griddle stone. get it as hot as you can, put the block of ice on it as the ice is melting use the stone. get the blackstone seasoning season it about 4x and you're done

So I can't speak for him, but I can give you MY answer to this. There is PLENTY to criticize Tomlin over, so much so that there is no need to make stuff up, or single him out for things that applies to all coaches. It's when people start to pile on just to pile on that it gets tiresome and redundant. I've defended Tomlin on certain things as well, but I've also wanted him gone following the 21-22 season, and my choice was Kevin O'Connell. I remember having the conversation with my brother when he asked who I would replace him with, and without hesitation it was O'Connell, then the Vikings hired him (not that Tomlin was or will ever be fired).

As per the WR, there is still time, maybe they eased some of that with Jonnu Smith, and I don't think they want two massive contracts to WRs, which is what they may have had to do if you address early in FA. I don't think outside of the 1st round there was that guy, and I'm not giving up Harmon or Johnson for a WR.

I agree about Tomlin and his schemes. I don't know, but I think his approach with Canada, if true...very hands off to the point of being unaware, for lack of a better term, might be worse than exerting control. That shows a guy way to damn comfortable. I don't know how he survived the whole Canada debacle. He shouldn't have.

To your last point, it's a legitimate question. I stated in another post I'm an older guy. As such, I have responsibilities and people who report to me. I'm done with the bullshiit stuff that is really in the weeds and has too many holes in it. Give me the indisputable facts. Those cannot be argued. Tomlin hasn't won a Super Bowl since '08, he hasn't been to one since '10. He hasn't won a playoff game since 2016. Canada. Losing to bad teams. He can't hide from that. Saying he needed a great performance from a player to win a championship? All coaches need that. It's silly, and falls apart upon further inspection.
