What's the difference of "buying signed paraphernalia" vs. "standing in line" to get said paraphernalia signed???

I'm not seeing a difference here in this pissing contest...
Plus buying tickets, parking is outrageous pricing now. So finding cheaper alternatives should be understandable.

Hell I am not wealthy I am not sitting on top a pile of money to even make a man cave. My basement is unfurnished.

Yet I still buy Steelers themed prizes and send them out.

So for me yeah people can spare me with oh you are a grown man that shouldn’t get autographs crap. I had that like since a kid I don’t get them every camp every season even. But when I do or anyone does no matter the age let them have some fun.

Who is anyone to ridicule that.

Signed memorabilia is a multiple billion dollar industry. That kinda speaks for itself. I'd had a few too many last night so I do appologize to any feelings I've hurt. Generally speaking if you come at me I will respond. That said if you rewatch the video if you would feel good in the lineup of kids and teens ok good on you. You get a choice spot but some kid who would really like that interaction does not. Im 54 year old male. I would not. And this isn't a triple down. It's the way I feel.

I am 57. I am not in the lineup of kids and teens, they are in the lineup with me. I also do not get upset if I seek out autographs and get none. I have even put kids in front of me not to see them squeezed out from big crowds.

You are entitled to your opinion but I am willing to bet you are one of the few not the many… that has your take.

Plus the players can easily skip over me if they wish and some do which again isn’t upsetting.

Still autographs aren’t just for kids. If you go to Latrobe you will see this as fact many enjoy getting them for their man caves or simply to have on hand for having something they love and or are passionate about.

I can see you are locked into your opinion, I just greatly disagree with it.

Which is perfectly fine. Provided it's respectfully disagree. I was less then respectful last night. For that I apologize. I've always enjoyed your opinions Slash.

I have no clue wtf you are talking about in terms of the comment about a season ticket holder. Id say at very least that is terribly out of context. I highly doubt Id pay the seat license and yearly cost for the current team that's for sure.
As far as the other. Yes a grown man asking another grown man among a bunch of children for his autograph looks like a turd. If you don't think so that is fine. Still living in mom's basement dude?
Like If I had a young kid. I might try to get an autograph for them. I do own signed memorbillia I've paid for. Which I think was tge issue for Rogers. He's not interested in signing for an adult to sell. But no. Under no circumstance would I stand among children to get a football player to sign something. If you would......enjoy.
I am far too lazy to look up your season ticket holder comment. It was years ago. And nothing was out of context. Maybe one day I’ll look for it. I’ve never asked for an autograph in my life. But I certainly won’t judge others for doing it. Calling anyone that does it a “turd” Mann oh Mann. Thousands upon thousands of adults or “(cause I’m over 13”) over 13 years old people ask for autographs. Wow…..you can pay for an autograph because you’re over 13. What an accomplishment! You must be so proud!

Yes this 64 year old “dude” with 4 grown children still lives in a basement suite with his mom. Quite the comeback there. Good lord.
I hope you show a little more intelligence teaching your football players how to play ball and become fine young men in society, than some of your ignorant ramblings on here.

Exactly Slash. “ who is anyone to ridicule that”. Anyone that makes a comment like those he made deserves to get called out.
I stand by my earlier comment. What an arrogant c***.

As a winner in one of the weekly prize I appreciated what you sent,it was a wonderful gesture. Cheers.

Getting the autograph is just icing on the cake of being in the moment...

STFU already. Im lucky to coach the young men I do and they are some of the finest players in our city of 250k. I facilitate a great group of coaches. We focus on skill, fielding a very competitive team and developing fearless young men of character. WTF do you know about that? If you want to ask another grown *** man for an autograph go ahead. I wouldn't.

Standing in line is way cooler…
You may get a chance to exchange a few words with the person you’re seeking an autograph from.

You may just make a personal connection, much more tangible and memorable than purchasing an autograph imho

I’ve stood in a couple musician’s autograph lines just to say “thank you” after a smoking show and not even ask for the autograph.

In both occasions the musician offered a quick convo instead, can’t have enough great memories from your trip on spaceship Earth. The coolest thing is one of them remembered our convo and approached me at a future show to come say hi having remembered our convo. Building that relationship now gets me on the guest list at his shows when he comes through my town.

In the end just do what makes ya happy and others shouldn’t feel a need to judge…just do you

I got one from Howie Meeker when I was about 9 in Kitchener at the Rathskellar......he was stickhandling his peas around his pork chop!
My grandmother was a huge Canucks fans (Kelowna) and we have a family connection to Kurtenbach, first C. Anyways, she was visiting, and was very, very excited he was there.
Last one ever.

Best pleasure: bumping into Walter in Brantford a couple times; gas station stuff.....man everyone loved him!

Bought Ron MacLean a beer once; same with Pat Burns down at the Purple Rooster. Good guys just having a few brown pops.

Many moons ago, my first trip to Toronto, my wife’s uncle got us into the old Maple Leafs Garden during the day time. We ran into Harold Ballard. He was with Dave Keon and Daryl Sitter. My favourite player as a boy growing up was Dave Keon, so that was pretty cool. They recommended this well known Jewish restaurant by the gardens for lunch. I still remember that sandwich that must have been 6” deep. Never had one like that since.

Yet you feel you should ridicule others that do. Which would include many on this site. And as I said, I’ve never asked for an autograph in my life. And could care less if others do.
Im on a deck in the Rockie Mountains and its happy hour. **** off. Have a good life!
