Roethlisberger for NFL MVP?

I am thinking Ben and AB take votes away from each other

And this is the ******* problem. Ben could average 500 yards a game for the last three with 15 more TD's and no pics, but as long as AB averages 150 of those yard and 1 TD he will win the MVP. same with the SB. When we go and Ben has 500+ yards passing with 6 TD's , but AB gets 150 and a TD he would win SB MVP. it's all bullshit just like when they gave it to Holmes. I don't know how Big Ben can let this **** roll off his back like he does, he is a better man than I am.

And you're right. Ben will never get the credit, because he's the league's pariah. No one wants to be seen pulling for that guy, because for some reason, the stigma of him being a rapist will always persist, because he was suspended for it. Tried in the court of public opinion, and will never escape it. So When they win a superbowl, it will always be the receiver, or Bell, but hey, if he gets his third superbowl, it won't matter much to him if he's MVP, especially if he makes his 3rd WR an MVP.

If he finishes this season like he has played the last several weeks, he should get votes

As it's already been pointed out, they'll give credit to Brown and Ben before Bell. Heck, some will even credit Boswell for making the kicks ahead of Ben.

That kind of ties it to what I was saying, he wasn't playing horrible though, he's had at least 5 TDs dropped, and some big ones, especially the would be TD at Chicago by Bryant.

The reason why we dont consider those dropped TD passes is the same reason we dont count dropped INT's (e.g. KC Chiefs game). In any case:

  • Ben has been playing great as of late. But it only highlights how poorly he played earlier in the season.
  • Also, Ben doesnt get knocked so much b/c of the rape allegations- He gets knocked because of AB and Bell. He has the best WR and arguably the best RB in the game. So more is expected of him then a 91 QB rating.

One dropped int is all you can think of, 3 of the ints in the Jags game weren't his fault and the int at Baltimore wasn't in her m either, AB caught the ball and appeared down by contact but the refs ruled him not down.
It's ok I knew someone would be along to turn it into a ***** thread.
And again there two catches in the Bears game Bryant long dropped TD and Bell dropped 3 passes in the flat where he has tons of space, if those balls are caught he has 100+ rating in that game.

And Coryea, even though it's tough to quantify drops, the most important thing is this team no longer has Cobi Hamilton, Ayres, or Sami Coates on the roster. That alone will decrease the potential drop percentage moving forward.

My point is, EVERY QB deals with drops, or tipped balls that become INT's. Its just apart of the game.

But forget dropped balls- think of Wentz, Wilson and Brady. Now consider their production despite their offensive weapon.

THAT, my friend is your answer.

Just some food for thought. I added 300 yards per game to Bens numbers for the last three games this year, then I took the average yards passing for Ben over the last five years. I took that average times 4 ( the number of years Brady has been playing longer than Ben) I know Brady missed a year for an ACL but Ben has actually missed more games than Brady over the last 14 years so I called it a wash, if you added the 17000+ yards Ben would have compared to the same playing time as Brady, Ben would be over 2000 passing yards ahead of him at this point. think about that.

If your aunt had balls, she would be your uncle.

You mean the wr that may get 2000 yards and the rb who is on Pace to get 90+ catches, must be a pretty good person throwing the ball around.
My main point is Ben wasn't allowed to run the offense like he's wanted all year, like he has the past 5 or 6 weeks. It's not just about stats, it's how well he's run this offense as of late.

Crampgate (2012)

TEAM: The Pittsburgh Steelers

SUMMARY: In November of 2012 the NFL fined Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders $15,000 and the Steelers organization another $35,000 for Sanders' faking of an injury against the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 21, 2012.

Impedegate (2013)

TEAM: The Pittsburgh Steelers

SUMMARY: With 6:26 left in the third quarter of their 2013 Thanksgiving night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones took a kickoff back and had to alter his path because Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin had stepped onto the field. Jones returned the kick 73 yards, but was tackled by defensive back Cortez Allen on the play, and Baltimore had to settle for a field goal on the drive.

Seriously? That’s your retort? A cramp and a coach stepping on the field. LOL.

Same same in your deflated and stealing eyes. Shame shame!
