Rookie Mini Camp

What goes on here? Anybody?

Anything worthwhile gonna come out during these 3 days or this gonna be nothing more than a meet n greet?
Players have been signed from them in the past so anything is possible.

I think they got Duck from one. Who waddled into some starts. 😁

I think it is also to inform the rookies, that there is a standard to uphold. Not just team-wise, but NFL-wise as well.

Coach Tomlin gives them that 1" speech. Fighting for your brothers, fighting for all those who disrespect you, fighting for that last inch..............

They also instill into them that during interviews they need to say "I just want to play for Coach Tomlin".

So as you can see, it is a little more complicated than just showing up.

Yes, a "darling" is born unto us.

Salute the nation

i suspect it is all introductory and orientation. Get them in the facility, show them around. Take them to the stadium and get them acclimated. I am sure a few speeches on what to expect from a football perspective but also transitioning to the pro's and what it takes. They will probably be introduced to the playbook with some terminology review. Meet their positional coaches and maybe get out on the practice field to start learnign how some of the drills work and flow of practice. So, you know, what dino said: Football in shorts.

Also, what Blitz said. Need to identify this years new pet player.

They get some info on where to live, eat.

I think Jurkovic was one of the biggest recruits in the country based more on his size and athleticism than his QB skills. It wouldn’t surprise me if he made it as a TE.

Didn't Warren come from one of these? How's the RB from GA looking?

They always win and it basically looks less then the JV stuff I coach.
Didn't the league evolve out of Saskatoon.
Maybe we should hire that HC to get someone who knows how to win in the playoff on our staff

Talk about DOMINANCE..........Holy

I know some of the coaches. They are all accomplished High School guys. But it's same as the Hilltops. They win all the time because Saskatoon is football crazy and in most other places if you don't make Usport you quit. Also they do have an excellent organization.

They signed corner Anthony Averett from mini camp. Veteren who has played for the ravens, raiders and lions. 29 years old. Not much slot work but did start for the ravens for a year on the outside. Nothing special but another guy with speed, special team experience and the ability to play corner in the nfl. Not bad addition for depth.

They seem to be making an effort to add speed to special teams.
