Didn’t A2 come out talking about 2021 run game to be a focus and back to Steelers way? Owner fluff talk, Mediocre Mike GAF the keys to house, cars, and pool house; running entire show.
Rooney has talked about fixing the run game three or four times under Tomlin. They've fixed it before yet it's an area they've always let fail before struggling to fix again.Didn’t A2 come out talking about 2021 run game to be a focus and back to Steelers way? Sorry but you're incorrect. Any partnership has the ability of the minority partners to usurp the majority owners authority and control of day to day management of company. Ask any businessman. This isn’t a publicly traded company. It’s a private ownership, through individuals, trusts or entities. The NFL isn’t a publicly traded company either. You can’t vote out the majority shareholder of a team. Rooney and the Rooney family (includes the McGliney’s) are the majority shareholders by a significant amount. Investment is made by shareholders (via everything clubs make money off of, including sponsorships through the League). So John Stallworth, for example who I believe has a 2-3% stake in ownership, receives his 2-3% share of the profits made by the franchise. Everyone talks about losing, loss of fans, etc. Fact is the NFL is the most popular sport in North America by a large margin. It’s very popular in Europe (GER) and the UK as well. While the Commish has a ton of issues, he has done one thing well, make money fir the owners. Then again, pretty much anyone could do that part of the job.
I am a businessman. The partnership does not trade publicly, and is privately owned. Minority owners are investors of a percentage amount of the team’s value. Another nomenclature used is stake. Their investment percentages are “non-controlling“ as the Rooney’s will keep controlling investment in the family. There are approximately 18 minority shareholders. David Tepper sold his 5% stake in ownership (to buy the Carolina Panthers), which was part of the 10% Rooney opened up for new investors in 2019. Owners of the 76’ers and a Wall Street firm are the latest to purchase from that 10%. Also note that any sale to investors by any franchise owner has to be approved by the NFL executive committee. This even includes Green Bay.Sorry but you're incorrect. He is correct outside of violating league rules that could force an owner to sell shares within its inner circle the Rooney's are locked in. Per NFL bylaws Rooney has to have over a 30 percent controlling stock in the team. The only way without being NFL forced out would be to sell his controlling shares willingly.Sorry but you're incorrect. No one said the Rooney's we're being forced out of their stock. They can be forced out of being the managing partner in control of day to day operations. He is correct outside of violating league rules that could force an owner to sell shares within its inner circle the Rooney's are locked in. Again the Rooney's can be voted out as managing partners by a majority vote of the shareholders. Being private does not isolate the Rooney's from the law and the law states the majority of ownership will determine who is the managing partners of a venture. This includes the NFL which does not have antitrust exemption as does MLB.I am a businessman. The partnership does not trade publicly, and is privately owned. Minority owners can voice their opinion to Rooney, but they have no power with the organization’s decisions. There have been articles for years about some minority owners disagreement with team decisions, FO decisions (Coach firings) and even the SEA, but Rooney has ignored them. Obviously he will listen to a minority investor, but they have no control over the organization.
Forced out by who?No one said the Rooney's we're being forced out of their stock. They can be forced out of being the managing partner in control of day to day operations.
Again, the percentages from minority owners are “non-controlled”. Meaning they have no input to the organization. As Slash indicated, the League requires the majority owner to have at least 30% ownership. Dan Rooney, and his 4 brothers after the Chief died had 80% ownership split between each of them (16%). The other 20% went to the McGinley family (related by marriage). When the league in the mid 2000’s clamped down on legal gambling ownership and required majority ownership, Dan had the at least 30% by buying two of his brothers out of their shares in keeping with the League mandate (casino/racetrack owners). His other brothers, Art Jr. sold 6% (who is an executive of the franchise), and John sold his to Dan as well but kept a small percentage (6%) Finally, the McGinley family sold 10% of their stake. It is estimated the remaining minorities owners total around 30%. The majority ownership is now Art2, with his uncles owning 16% and 10% to the McGinley’s (Maternal relatives). No one said the Rooney's we're being forced out of their stock. As explained the franchise is privately owned, with private investors having a non-controlling percentage of ownership. In fact, even if the franchise was publicly traded, the minority group is far from having any chance of elevating themselves above the Rooney family for percentage ownership.Again the Rooney's can be voted out as managing partners by a majority vote of the shareholders. As stated, the minority owners have no power over how the organization is run. If they are displeased they can sell their stake of ownership (as did Tepper and Haslam). Even if the scenario existed for a vote of “no confidence” to be enacted those minority owners who are NOT related to the Rooney family are far below any chance at 50% ownership. The minority partners.if they get 51percent voting no confidence in the Rooney's they can nominate someone else to be managing partner.

Know the topic. The NFL is exempted from Anti-Trust laws, although with Goodell’s mishandling of several high profile situations during his tenure, Congress has made it known that the exemption could be challenged if a full investigation was performed.

It would still be pretty cool to own stock in the team though. I’d like to have stock in the Pens or SteelersLooks like you are correct. Props sent your way.
I know someone whose family has some with the Packers. Man they love it when they can bring it up in conversation (they do always). Third generation owner and they are so proud. It would still be pretty cool to own stock in the team though. I’d like to have stock in the Pens or Steelers
I read something recently about some of the stock the Packers were selling out was a sham. Can't speak for the validity of the piece. I sort of thought it was a bullshit peace but hard to tell. None the less that is one story floating out there.I know someone whose family has some with the Packers. Man they love it when they can bring it up in conversation (they do always). Third generation owner and they are so proud.

maybe someone will start a "gofundme" campaign to raise money for the Steelers to hire better coordinators and coaches.
Standing ovation...Both the defense and offense have been the tip of the spear in regards to their position in the league. When we had the Killer Bs the offense was explosive, the defense was solid if not regularly in the top half. They’ve lead the league in sacks numerous times, most recently the last two in a row.
There has always been an ebb/flow factor as to both sides hitting strides at the same time. It happens, but it’s rare. Lord knows it always happened with Cowher, who delegated the offense to the OC, but it was HIS philosophy that was used. Run the ball, QB manage the game and play good defense. Most of the time it got us to the playoffs, and twice to the SB. Chin defensive philosophy never changed as a HC and he only had 4 DCs. Capers, LeBeau (twice), Lewis and Haslet). Prior to Ben he changed his offensive philosophy once 2002 & 2003, but had only a couple decent OC. Gailey and Malarkey over beauties like Sherman and Gilbride. Pure Cowher selections FYI. Obviously getting Ben in 2004, changed the Tommy-gun offense back to Bettis as feature back and the rest is history with Whiz and BA.
Tomlin has done the same except have as many DC. LeBeau was kept because there wasn't a change needed, the defense was still in their prime. Why would you change something that worked? Other than this year, Tomlin’s defense has been in the upper 1/3 of the league (just like Cowher). This year, they lost two DL starters and killed the primary defensive philosophy used, stop the run. Offensively, there were changes after Ben‘s schoolyard play success and BA had a part in that, but Mr. Rooney gave an edict to keep Ben upright and change the offense to extend his playing career. Thus Haley was hired and was primarily successful.
The franchise has been pretty stable in wins/loss %, SB appearances/championships. Defense and offense (with Ben) has been the driving factor with success. The defense has remained the same in effectiveness except in two areas. Pass defense and physicality. Of which both areas has changed drastically since Cowher was involved.
Absolutely. I've said the same for years. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if when some of the more gifted minds get together the jokes start to fly. Picture Belichick and Reid:The word is out - Tomlin is a narcissist who must have control over everything - even if he is wrong 90% of the time. I'm pretty sure coaches around the league talk and it wouldn't surprise me that Tomlin really is not well thought of as a coach by other coaches. Most coaches are smart enough to spot stupid when they see it and Tomlin has a big *** neon "Stupid" sign plastered all over his forehead.
DIC’s aunt?I know someone whose family has some with the Packers. Man they love it when they can bring it up in conversation (they do always). Third generation owner and they are so proud.
That was 10 years ago. If Tomlin cannot adapt in the span of a decade then he needs to go.Standing ovation...
I'll only add this---rule changes also GREATLY affected the way we play defense now. Just me typing that got James Harrison a 30k fine!!!
