Roosevelt Nix

Nix had another great game yesterday, too bad he only played 10 snaps.

As I said, FB's always been one of my favorite positions and I take every opportunity to watch a good one. He blew up Derrick Johnson (56, one of the best ILBs in the league for a while) on two consecutive plays, just completely planted him. Later he made the block on Sean Smith (31, CB that eventually ran Bell down) which broke Le'Veon for the huge gain down the left sideline.

The guy plays hard... its nice because when he is in there on O, it changes the dynamic and makes us harder to scheme for... one of arians flaws was not having a real in the backfield blocker on the roster...a blocking TE/ type and a true fullback are not quite the same... a guy who can read the hole and push the guy coming through it out is invaluable on certain plays. You don't want the guy in there every snap, but when he is if the D doesn't account for him it opens things up in the run game

What a great ******* sight it was to see him destroying people with crushing blocks all game. Dan Kreider was one of my favorite Steelers in his time and Nix was reminiscent of him today.

"There isn't a fullback in my offense. There's never going to be one." - Bruce Arians

Amen. Nix is a dual threat. A FB who can block and good special teams kick coverage player. He has a home in Pittsburgh I hope for years
