LOL. Ellington has 24 pounds on Archer. Not to mention he's actually a WR.

Even with those extra 24lbs, he still only threw up the bar 15 times to Dri's 20.

Look, I am not thrilllled with the pick. But I can understand it.

M.Bryant may have been the only pick I would have preferred.

Watkins put up 16 reps. Beckham put up 8. 6'5 231 Mike Evans put up 12. Sorry, but all are considerably better built and more durable than the oft-injured Archer.

I would get the pick if he projected to any role whatsoever on offense. Read TMC's extensive post on Archer. The best season by a RB under 180 in the last 10 years was McCluster's 500 yards (he was then moved to slot WR). I cannot imagine how they expect to give this guy offensive a role. He didn't return punts at all in college, so they didn't draft him to do that. Kickoffs have been obliterated in today's NFL as most kickoffs are downed, so I surely hope they didn't draft him to do that. He wasn't a WR in college, so I doubt they drafted him to do that. Either they think he's going to completely revolutionize the NFL in multiple ways, or they felt this was a throwaway pick to spend on another Chris Rainey.

with the leap latimer, richardson got, a few weeks ago they were like rnd 3-5 projected, now it pushes guys like kevin norwood, jeff janis, devin street, mike davis cody hoffman all who were rnd 5-6 projections as justifiable picks in the 5th.
we could do this
ke
4 a CB Mcgill
4b NT Ellis
trade up in 5 with 5 @7

4.Ross Cockrell.CB, Duke
5a.Carl Bradford, Arizona State, OLB
5b.Justin Ellis, DT, LA Tech
6a.Quincy Enunwa, WR, Nebraska

Smallwood-lb

Purifoy-cb

Would love to land Ellis, Cockrell, Smallwood and Purifoy. I know that don't help the offense but I think these guys are potential long time stars for us.

We have to go CB and WR. Not selecting our biggest needs in the early rounds means we don't have starting caliber players at those positions on the team. They will either suck this year or have to find players in free agency unless someone on the team now steps up big time. This draft is bizarre - especially the No. 3 pick.

This should stop some of the sobbing 'round here...

Can you list for me the 5'7 173 receivers currently in the NFL?

We get it. You hate the pick. Who else runs a 4.2 40 in the NFL??? No one.

Give the kid a chance and let's see how the rest of the picks pan out rather than bemoan over the pick that upset your apple cart...

If this is indeed a deep CB draft then load up on them today, maybe grab a big receiver if there's one available high on the Steelers board. Maybe we can find one or two diamonds in the rough at CB that we can develop.

I can list a lot of guys who ran similar 40s but washed out of the league immediately.

I'll ask you again - did you or did you not **** your pants when we took Shazier?
