In somewhat of an odd move, the Seahawks released a statement on Wilson's behalf (teams don't usually release statements about a player's personal life).

"I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," Wilson said. "Clearly, decisions like these don't come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this matter."

That would be an interesting settlement. She didn't have to agree. She could have stayed separated until the gravy train heads into the station. He must be paying her some serious up front cash. I realize that First Round pick money was just stupid. But once again Goodell overreacts and comes up with the dumbest solution. This kid is still making chump change this year and maybe next. Not only is that unfair to him, but once they prorate his big contract and backloaod some of it, they will have had a premium type QB for like 6 years on an average salary of maybe 3-4 million dollars a year. How is that fair in terms of competitive balance.

I think she's a couple years older than him too. She was the "hot" upper classman (she was a swimmer) that went fishing in the freshman pool of athletes at NC State to try and hook a winner.

Sounds like Wilson (probably a little green behind the ears) too her lovin' hook, line and sinker. She graduated before him and followed him to Wisconsin when he transferred (couldn't let him find someone better!).

They got married in 2012.

Sounds like she has issues with trust and smothered the **** out of him. That type of attention is nice when you're a freshman and then you're committed, but he's old enough now to realize he wants to take advantage of his fame a bit and test the waters. She's a decent catch for a typical college player, but a Super Bowl winning quarterback looking to make $15+ million/season? On the west coast?
