Sanders

so what will the Donkeys do when Welker misses significant time? While Sanders may still be the 3rd option there behind the Thomases, he'll still draw the opposing defense's #2 CB and we saw how well that worked for him last season.

I think Latimer is the far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far, far superior talent. I'd throw him outside and have Sanders rotate with Caldwell.

i seriously doubt they make their prized offensive free agent signing a part-time role player.

He was one of the league's least effective deep receivers last season. 23 deep balls resulted in 7 catches and one TD.

I agree that for us he was HORRIBLE as a deep threat. And for whatever reason, we would force him deep throws when he was clearly not getting separation. My comment was to Tape, Denver is not using him as a slot man, or sending him on slot type routes. They sent him on a deep post (67 yard TD), go route (his second TD), he was supposed to run a deep post on Manning's INT. So Tape's comment that he will be the slot guy and running slot type routes is just wrong.

I'm with you on his evaluation tho, and I never understood why we kept sending him deep. Denver has way more weapons than we did, so he'll likely be more successful there in a similar role, which for some reason he keeps getting put into.

If he has more sucess as a deep threat in Denver could it be that Peyton throws a better deep ball then Ben?? Both throws by Peyton were on the money. I maybe wrong but I dont remember too many on the money deep throws from Ben to Sanders besides the one against the Jets and maybe the one he eventually fumbled for no reason, forget against who.

That was just my take. I'm also sure they'll give him every opportunity to make a splash. And as others have pointed out, any turd can "succeed" (as in, catch lots of passes) with Peyton under center, so I doubt he'll wash out completely. But given time, I figure Peyton will prefer others.
