SAVE Act

So why the hell are Republicans against it? They're all in ******* cahoots... Anyone who can't see it is a ******* moron.

No Republicans voted against it in the House, and only 1 vowed to vote against it in the senate.
To say that they are in cahoots or on the same team is extreme. Hear a lot of that.
According to AI:

While nearly all Senate Republicans support the SAVE America Act on its merits, a small group of "holdouts" are reportedly opposed to using the "nuclear option" to abolish the filibuster to pass it. Additionally, at least one Republican senator has explicitly stated opposition to the bill itself.

Lisa Murkowski
(AK): She is the only Republican senator to explicitly announce she will vote against the measure. She has argued that the bill contradicts the party's stance against federal mandates on state elections and expressed concern it could be used to delegitimize future election results.

Rand Paul
(KY): He has been identified as a Republican senator who opposed the bill in recent procedural or related funding contexts, often citing principled stances on federal overreach or specific provisions.

The filibuster thing is the hang up.

Republican Senators Opposed to Nuking the Filibuster
A larger group of Republicans support the bill but refuse to change the Senate's 60-vote filibuster rule to pass it with a simple majority. According to reports from NBC News and The Hill, these senators include:

The former GOP leader remains "dug in" against changing the filibuster rules.
  • John Thune

  • Susan Collins
    (ME):
Has consistently opposed rule changes to the legislative filibuster.
  • Thom Tillis
    (NC):
Opposes the rule change and has not signed on as a co-sponsor of the current version.
  • Kevin Cramer
    (ND):
Stated that "no single piece of legislation" is worth "blowing up" the Senate's rules.
  • Others: Reports have also linked
    Todd Young
    (IN)
    ,
    Chuck Grassley
    (IA)
    , and
    Jerry Moran
    (KS)
to the group opposed to ending the filibuster for this legislation.
