Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round. Just sayin’.
I knew someone would say that.
However the Steelers under Coach Cool Shades are lucky if their 1st-3rd round players are any good, let alone someone drafted later.
Kenny Pickett, Broderick Jones, and George Pickens say Hi.

George Pickens was VERY GOOD here…

Elite in fact, putting up those type of numbers in Mike’s pathetic scheme with the QB play he dealt with also being the only offensive player the other team had to account for. He had zero out there with him…and zeros on the sideline coaching him.

The issue with GP wasn’t talent, it was character related, which seems to be a recurring theme for players under Mediocre Mike…he’s just not so great at reeling guys in when needed, mediocre at best.

AB, Kelvin Beachum and Bince also say hello. The draft s a crapshoot. any HC has big wins and big losses

If the Tomlin would use the BLITZ more, he’d be a bigger winner !!!!!!

"An anonymous Steelers coach shared his thoughts on Will Howard’s performance in training camp so far."

“I’ve never seen a quarterback this special, he’s going to be the next Big Ben.”

Anyone thinks this is legit?
I haven't seen this anywhere but... this is exactly why I'm not sold on the idea of "moving up for Arch" next year...

Brock Purdy says, "hi"...

I think some are selling Howard a little short. I think he could be the guy. A lot can happen in one season and actually having Aaaa-Ron to Tudor under, is significant.

Howard may not be the guy, but I can’t rule him out as of yet.

Wouldn’t it be something if he made it so we don’t take a QB next year………… 1st round.

You won’t get any argument from me over Tomlin’s inability to develop talent. All I’m saying is that the round he was drafted in doesn’t automatically mean he can’t be a good starting quarterback, which is what you said in your initial post.

could you imagine this offense with GP on one side and DK on the other side with PF at TE and AR throwing the ball. hell I aint even a DC and it would give me nightmares.

Well, Howard should see a lot of reps in our 1st two preseason games. I might actually watch them just to see what he does.

I don’t disagree but when the Steelers have trouble developing early round talent then I’m skeptical of their ability to develop late round talent.

I'll hold off crowning him the next big thing until I at least see him playing in a real game in pads against third stringers.

Don’t live in your fears………… become our new DC and tell Coach Tomlin to step aside

You won’t see Pickens unless they (Dallas, as we will be there with our new DC in charge) can make it to the Super Bowl. Plenty of time for you to game plan for him……

You're incl. George Pickens? sour grapes 🍇 comment if I ever saw one.

The bigger problem with your argument is when they pick early rd talent that is not early rd talent. Pickett was picked at least 3-4 rds early then he should have been. That's a scouting issue not a developing issue.
