Did Pickens develop? He was a a circus catch/bad attitude guy at UGA, never got better in the NFL.
Once again somebody confusing attitude for skillset....id like to know where you didn't see any development in his playing skills to make that assessment?? You seem to be implying you watched everyone of his games from UGA through the pros?? He was definitely more than just a circus catch guy whether college or pros. I dont think i watched a single game of his in college, but I've watched my fair amount of highlights and I dont recall seeing him make catches where he waits until the last second to get his hands up so as to not make the db aware that he was tracking the ball until it was too late. As much as he did it last season I should have seen it at least once or twice in highlights I've viewed if he came into the league with it. I've yet to see it.

Lazy blocker, lazy route-runner, got poor separation. He’s Brandon Lloyd with an attitude problem.

1:35 mark to see a catch like you described above.

If anyone has been attending training camp or watched Howard in any other forum (Buckeye Fans) please set me straight. What I can’t get out of my mind was watching him at the combine, I’m not sure I ever saw anyone throw a ten yard out/sideline pass as poorly as he did. He was awful, soft and inaccurate. Everyone has bad days, maybe something was bothering him physically, he didn’t warm up properly, the wide receivers were slower than he was used to, I may be exaggerating the poor performance as time has passed but it wasn’t pretty.

I’m hoping it was a fluke, just one of those days, I’m sure he’s thrown plenty of beauties but that day I was thinking, don’t draft this kid.

Except you rarely see anybody give Tomlin credit for anything on here or anywhere else. His success is always attributed to someone else.

That’s all NATIONAL news media talks about is how great a coach the Tomlin is……….. Player’s coach, gets more out of nothing than anybody else, has them in the playoffs every year and many many other things as well.

Here you have real football fans and see the truth of what is really happening with this team.

We are not sheeple and can think with our own minds……. Not media convinced or driven by the talking heads.

Step back, relax and take a breath of fresh air.

NOTE: Many here do give the Tomlin credit when credit is due.

DK Sports had a “Daily Shot” yesterday on Will Howard, well worth the watch……….

Makes a lot of sense in current time frame statis.

Not sure iof it explains your scenario, but worth the time to watch.

just admit you're another sour grapes commenter bro. That's the last video you should have posted to prove your point and then you had the audacity to compare him to Brandon Lloyd. Two totally different receivers if i ever saw any. If the Steelers said they we're bringing GP back minus the attitude you'd be one of the stupidest people on earth not to welcome him back with open arms. Im fine with him being gone, BUT only because of his attitude. That doesn't mean im going to pretend like I didn't see what I saw out of him (just because he's not wearing a Steelers uniform) in the two years he was here despite playing with mid level to below average QBs the entire time.

He was everything he was advertised to be (unfortunately incl. the problem child) and far from a bust as the original commenter who mentioned him implied. Who can take anyone seriously who says that? I just dont get not giving people credit where credit is due? It doesn't stop their shine from taking place. It only casts a shadow above your own head as to what would be your motive for doing it. Its ok to say he was a 1st rd talent but 6th rd headcase and be dead on with that analysis.

could you imagine this offense with GP on one side and DK on the other side with PF at TE and AR throwing the ball. hell I aint even a DC and it would give me nightmares.

And with two egos of their sizes, how long would it take for one or the other to start cryin that he wasn't getting targeted enough? Especially after a couple of losses. Then we have another divided locker room which Tomlin seems clueless as how to handle.

Thanks Buddy, interesting perspective, not sure I’m sold on his ability to make all the throws but sounds like a guy worth pulling for.

I can take credit or blame (with an assist from DIC).
I actually met up with Will the night before his combine performance and took him out for dinner where his beef stew was laced with copious amounts of a curiously strong batch of peyote.

Dude was so freaking high after dinner he was gonna just bail and skip the combine throwing session but I convinced him that “hair of the dog” would pull him through and if he just had a bit more it would regulate. Come throwing time he kept asking why he was being tasked with midget tossing, he didn’t want to hurt the tiny fellas and was very apprehensive…still gave it the college try…man the kid has guts.

This was of course all in a ploy so his draft stock would plummet and the Steelers could get their guy with a 6th rounder saving their early picks for other pressing needs.

Who cares about Pickens. He gone.

Saw one guy on the net say he's seen Howard alot lately and he doesn't have the NFL zip on his ball. Who knows. Total crapshoot at this point but we need to know what we have before the next draft comes along.

Without the attitude, he’d be a great receiver. Alas, it’s exactly that attitude that has him not blocking on run plays and jogging out routes when he’s not the primary. Heck, wouldn’t care if he was a diva if he worked hard, TO, AB, Chad Ochocinco, the list goes on and on. Those guys are divas but balled out all the time, not just when they thought they were getting the ball.

There’s a reason his NFL.com draft profile has a quote from a GM saying that he wasn’t even on their draft board because of the red flags.

Except you rarely see anybody give Tomlin credit for anything on here or anywhere else. His success is always attributed to someone else.
The entire board here gives him credit for his 18 straight Tomlinship's. And that is a very very super special feat.

Well I hope you are wrong. That is like 90% of our passing plays in Tomlin's offense.

Lifelong Buckeyes fan here. IMO, Howard doesn’t quite have the arm to be a great starter. And he makes questionable throws sometimes as well. I think he will make an excellent backup though. He has great mental makeup and is an absolute gamer, no question about that. Just my two cents. I’m hoping he either he proves me wrong or we get lucky and land a stud next year.
