Can't find word what happened to him. He was probable to play, obviously didn't. Was he a healthy enough scratch? Re-injury?

Every report showed that he would be activated for the game. I couldnt find him anywhere today.

If we play the Pats in the playoffs we are really going to need him to cover Gronk. Just get healthy young man.

I think the team has figured out how to keep him from not getting injured. Just don't play him.

In his presser Tuesday Tomlin said Shazier was probably physically able to play last week vs the saints, but he wasn't there mentally or in game preparedness or something along those lines, maybe someone else remembers.

There was also comments made regarding how much the not playing would hamper his knowledge of the defense and how rusty he was. I believe it was talked about in one of the steelers.com episodes. So not playing a healthy player who can not execute his duties was also smart coaching.

He dressed but didn't see regular down play. They must feel he is too far behind mentally but it seemed like his sideline to sideline speed was a difference maker. I thought the defense looked it's best when he played. But they know. They're in practice.

That is what study is for. How could you be behind mentally when all you have is TIME on your hands? That's a bullshit excuse. It's been your job since the day you signed the contract.

Looking at a book and playing at full speed are two different things. If the staff, who are with the guys in practice feel he is less prepared than the combination of Williams/ Spence I'd have to agree on that.

Time to move him to strong safety and hope he stays healthy in '15. He's going yo keep getting injured in the middle.

we better play him vs atlanta on that field he can fly and they love screens and slants need him to cover the middle while Timmons blitzes, the DL with Mclendon at NT got a much better push and Tuitt was impressive.

Gronk would eat his lunch and dance naked with his girlfriend. You're not covering that half-a-retard with a linebacker.

Shazier is, at least physically, one of the best matchups to Gronk out there. He's one of the only players that can match size and athleticism with him. But the reality is that no one can truly stop him, that's like criticizing a corner for not being able to stick with Antonio Brown. Who can?

Timmons also had some injuries his rookie year and that held him back a lot but since that time from a health stand point he has been very reliable. There is no indication Shazier will do the same but I would at least give him a chance before writing him off.

At least one of his injuries had nothing to do with toughness or reliability. When his knee got rolled it was fortunate his season didn't end.

If we play the Pats in the playoffs...

God Love You!

Looking at a book and playing at full speed are two different things.

Apparently not in the "New" Steelers organization. It seems they're now much more closely aligned than they used to be.

Gronk would eat his lunch and dance naked with his girlfriend.

He may even do that simultaneously...

There are rumors about his "toughness" flying around the locker room.

Anyone that watched his college tape knew he didn't play "tough". He doesn't like to get his nose dirty on plays. He likes to run around blockers.

This was evident before we drafted him. To say the coaches are now surprised he's not tough is embarrassing.

yet we had a 9,000 page thread about Dri.

smh

You had 9000 pages of dri because Dri supporters wouldn't let it go. They kept trying to add pages to it thinking that Dri was going to break out and they could rub everyone's noses into it. Just like after the Giants pre-season game when it was brought back from the dead when Dri had 2 good runs.

Tomlin has said that he is behind Williams and Spence and will have to prove himself to get back into the rotation. Sounds to me like a coach recognizing a player hasn't played in 7 weeks and wants him to work himself back into the swing of things. Especially a ROOKIE who hasn't played in 7 weeks...
