Not sure that they should have charged him with attempting to assassinate the President, it's hard to get 12 people to agree on anything.
But no question he did attempt to murder a secret service agent.

The attempt merely needs some affirmative steps to bring about the planned crime. Bringing weapons to the hotel, checking in with those weapons, then trying to use a shotgun to infiltrate the location where President Trump was present to shoot him after leaving a written admission that he wanted to kill President Trump and his cabinet constitute pretty strong evidence of attempted murder of the President.

Anyone with a miniscule amount of cognitive ability on the jury would agree that is a rational arguement, but it only takes one.
I'm simply amazed at the number of people on other sites, FB, X, without any coherent reasoning, lacking in my opinion, any emotional stability.
These are the people that caused safety labels to be put on 5-gallon buckets.
