SHUTDOWN!

Yes. Air will also become scarce.

Oh, I'm ready on that front! I have this bad boy in my arsenal:

Comfort + protection

My grave concern is about public transportation. Surely the bus systems are all shut down. What if I go to Atlanta and can't ride on MARTA (Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta)? I have no plans to visit that Godforsaken piece of **** city. But what if I do? THEN WHAT!?

You merely ask for advice from the many homeless sleeping on the MARTA. They know every secret ...

What’s appalling is that the only government sector still getting paid are the ones responsible for shutting the government down.
Imagine how quickly this gets resolved if Congress wasn’t paid either.

Unfortunately Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution says they get paid.

They don't need our money. They're getting paid by other sources. Much of it going to put us in our current situation.

If I didn't listen to the news, I would not know the govt was shut down.
If you fly you might.
Lots of flights being cancelled because of air traffic controllers overworked.

I was just ready to resupply bunker water when guess what?

Shutdown.

Water sales stop due to government shutdown, right?
Well that was poor planning. Why didn't you sink a bore at the same time you put the bunker in?

I'm wondering why our health insurance is going up $600/month next year even though we don't qualify for subsidies. It's gone up about $100/month every year previously. WTH?

But if you didn’t listen to the news like you said, then you may have heard about it if you flew a lot.
Thankfully I fly only few times a year.
No more this year.
The one thing I will say is traffic in DC is much much better.

One week after Election Day...Who would have guessed? Mission accomplished in Virginia.

Going up 600$ a month? Holly ****. If you don’t mind, what do you pay per month?

It went from $1100/month to $1700/month for myself, hubby and 22 year old son. Our deductible is like 8500/person, 18500 family.

Thankfully (knock on wood) none of us have any health issues so we barely touch the deductible.

So much for “Affordable Care”.

They didn’t want the government open. They wanted someone to blame for their failures. That’s it. End of story. That’s why they’re mad now, because they no longer have that.

Then claiming that electing blue candidates in deep blue states is somehow the rejection of republican policy when those elections were never going to end differently regardless of the shutdown. What planet are we on?

In the end, it doesn’t matter much. Most people see this for what it is. They played games with people’s lives for political power. While I hope no one forgets that, recent events suggest they will. Quickly.
