Sky Rocketing Wide Receiver Market Drives Up Steelers Diontae Johnson’s Price

WR of his caliber are available in the draft every year. Why over-pay?
Yep. The Steelers are very good at drafting WRs. Not an area of need. Tons of serviceable receivers available every year.

We should be much better this year at running the ball. The big issue last year was we had a rookies everywhere. should be much better this year just based on experience.
There were only two rookies in the lineup last year and experience alone doesn't mean players improve. Based on the ineptitude running the ball in recent years, bumping up into the mid-20s in rushing yards and YPC would be an accomplishment.

I think waiting is a huge mistake that’s going to cost millions… i think his drop issue from two years ago is grossly overstated now… he had no drops until near the end of last season… i also think the kid has pro bowl potential and is very much in the mold of diggs… if you look at their styles and production over their first 3 seasons its very comparable …

Its idiotic to trade or lose a 25 year old thats where he is because he wants paid market value with how little we have on the roster at his level right now.

Wrs are way more valuable than most offensive players right now… anyone you get to be a number one type will want that money or higher going forward… pay him, if you suddenly get a glut of other options then you consider trading him…

2 of 5.qnd weakness everywhere else. They did sign people better

One of the guys they signed was to replace one of the rookies who had no business starting for as long as he did. The other they signed was to replace arguably their best offensive lineman last year.

I see this offense moving into the high teens for year end ranking. I base that on if O'Canada can make as much improvement as we expect the other players to.

Our OL will be twice improved over last year. If we get the decision made on the starting center that in itself is huge, add in Moore presumably takes his step up as well PLUS the new hired FAs.

Imagine Najee actually getting past the line of scrimage before contact............................ shitsizzle that will be impressive run from there.

Salute the nation

Market value for him is no more than $15 million. He is not a top 10 WR. He is probably a top 25 WR and may squeak into the top 20 but that's it. No way we should pay him close to $20 million per. That is insanity.

I agree completely. Wide Receivers coming out of college now are far more ready to play now in the NFL. This year there is a ton of kids that are outright burners and can catch a tennis ball, football.........whatever. No way I pay this guy that much money just because other idiotic owners have lost their collective ******* minds. I am looking at you Jacksonville. Christian Kirk... really?
