Smokescreen played perfectly

DIC,

Could you elaborate on the criteria that you utilized to form the opinion that a newly drafted rookie isn't a HOF QB? Furthermore, could you share with us your background as it relates to being a subject matter expert on evaluating NFL talent? Thanks.

I have more than 1- outlet in my basement.!

This was a terribly disappointing draft. Pickens might be a good receiver some day - let's hope a little bit better than Diontae in 2 years from now.

No Wyatt, no Olave, no Watson, not even a Tyquan. Just bench-warmer Pickett. ****.

Each and every player the Steelers drafted is a foregone conclusion for a backup spot.

Steelers enter 2022 on offense with Mitch "One-Trick Pony" Trubador throwing to Muth and then to "One-Trick Pony" Claypool, "barely open and i might catch it" Diontae and Special Teams Gunner No. 9.

Much like the last two years, this is hardly the headliner risk most teams have come to expect from the Steelers.

Huh? The guy has all the physical and on-field mentality (planting DBs on their *****, not backing down from anybody) traits to be elite. His maturity/common sense is what's in question.

Yeah, that tends to happen when they're already off the board.

Going into the draft Colbert said there is 22 starters on the roster. So we knew it wouldn't be easy for whatever rookie to start.

But Kenny will have an opportunity to start, he will have to earn it though through performance. WRs should get some early playing time. Perhaps a few players get their time initially on the practice squad.

I like that it won't be easy for any rookie to start, lends to a better roster when you have to compete to get playing time. No hand me outs.

Go root for another team then.....

Serious question….what makes Pickett any different from Burrow or Mac Jones from a skills or production standpoint? If Pickett played for LSU during their championship season or for Alabama during theirs he would have been a top 10 draft pick. He’s got the the 3 things that makes a successful NFL QB…accuracy, intelligence and pocket awareness. Throw in good size, some mobility, a decent arm and that moxie that Burrow and Jones have and I think we got a good one. Only time will tell. Neither Burrow nor Jones were getting mentioned in any draft discussions prior to that one magical year they had. Sound familiar?
I don't know if I can fully agree with this.

I watched every game with Mac Jones at QB at it was a culmination of events and years that led him to the top of the depth chart. Burrow, not so much, but I kind of see where you're going but if Kenny was not good enough to play in the SEC, well I don't want to speculate...

He's here now let's see what he can do. Personally, I just cringe that he'll be sporting #8. Yikes too many bad memories...

You're right ber, time will tell. I think training camp will tell a lot of tales and hopefully the best get the nod and not draft position that determines anything.

DIC, it sounds like you're hoping Rudolph puts on a show this training camp. Rooting for the underdog, are ya? :ROFLMAO:

At this point, all we have is our opinions on how this will play out.
There hasn't been competition at QB in a long, long time, so camp this year will be fun to watch.

I'm going to give all of their draft picks the benefit of the doubt until we actually see them play. Good or bad, some of them will surprise us.

Are you suggesting only QBs who played in the SEC are good enough to start in the NFL?

ACC (7): Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, Matt Ryan, Trevor Lawrence, Mitch Trubisky/Kenny Pickett Jameis Winston, Daniel Jones
Big 10 (4): Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, Kirk Cousins, Tom Brady
Big 12 (4): Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Tannehill, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts
Independent (1): Zach Wilson
Missouri Valley (1): Carson Wentz
MW (2): Josh Allen, Derek Carr
Ohio Valley (1): Jimmy Garoppolo
Pac 12 (6): Davis Mills, Justin Herbert, Marcus Mariota, Sam Darnold, Jared Goff, Aaron Rodgers
SEC (6): Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones, Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford, Drew Lock

I laughed when I read that comment of his too. As if playing in the SEC is some kind of benchmark of predicting future success.

Looking forward to Pickett serving up a tall glass of shut the **** up to the haters.

You know very well that I always want the best player to play regardless of favortism or draft position,.........

I know you are just giving the shitts but I'm just being clear as well. Love your football acrumen and HUMOR or attempt at it.........!!!

Well i think when your starting 3-wide set is Chase Claypool, Diontae Johnson and Gunner Olszewski, your 1st and/or 2nd round draft picks must push the hell out of any of these positions to become the starter.

it's just a pretty sad starting lineup of wide receivers who have done pretty much nothing so far.

Pray that Pickens is the wideout people say he is and not just the 7th-best WR of this draft.

I think we are going to be very happy with our WRs. Especially Pickens. Who is my way too early Steeler rookie MVP.

I don't follow college ball so I'm hoping some of you can get me more enthused over the KP pick. Fully get why we didn't pick Willis with Colbert stating they wanted starter ready players for 3 of their picks. Truthfully, I wanted a defensive player for the first round.

Kenny was taken because he was the most starter ready AND from what I heard Canada recruited Kenny to Pitt, stealing him from Temple. Canada left Pitt before Kenny started so Kenny/Canada are real familiar. Kenny should fit Canada's schemes better than Ben could.

No I'm not - I was only responding to the "if Kenny played for Bama/LSU" comment...

I would be beyond stunned if Gunner Olszewski ends up anywhere near the starting lineup.

See, the way I understand it is that Mike Tomlin ******* panicked and said to the GM and the other people in the decision pool "We need a ******* franchise Quarterback or I can't deliver 8-8-1."

And when those decision-makers brought up the fact that Kenny may not turn out to be a franchise quarterback, Tomlin just said "Well that's ******* fine then, we didn't get 8-8-1 because of a rookie quarterback. We're all good!"

if he's even the Steeler's Rookie MVP then i think he starts games over Claypool. i would think.

Right now... 3-wide? You can't put Boykin in there, he don't belong.
As of today, Gunner is the Steeler's starting slot receiver. Steve Sims is the back-up slot.

Jesus. Hope to God Pickens and Austin snatch both starting gigs. Otherwise it's Diontae & Gunner replacing the '21 Diontae & Ray-Ray show.
